Ok when you start you have a choice of 3 rare pokemon...you only get one so pick carfully Ive always picked charmander or you could pick squirtle hes good to. Bulbasaur is so good but the hardest to train. Charmander I think is the Best it is very easy to beat every one once you get charzaird! Next you rival will want to battle you...beat him and hell say he picked the wrong pokemon...lose and youll rival will think he picked the right one and hell cream you later (Not true if your experiencent or good) any way after that you can either:

A: Get a town map from your rivals sister loacated next to you house

B: Just go right on the the path and get the map later

Once you get going the first person youll see will be somone who will give you a potion (talk to him) then just find your way to Virdian City.
