When you are fighting a pokemon with 2 types like gyarados who is type 1 water and type 2 flying hitting it with a grass move will do normal damage after 4 consecutive hits of grass moves it will overide type 2 and become super effective. This works against all 2 type pokemon this can also make normal damage not very effective {example} vileplume is type 1 grass and type 2 poison so ground moves will not be very effective after 4 turns because type two has been overid.
