Hints for begginers.

First of all, you have to buy Pok�mon Emerald if you don't have it, or if you don't want to buy it, you can always use Ruby/Sapphire (This works too).

Okay. Here's a few tips:

1- Get the three starters:

That's right. You need to have two Gameboys Avdance/SP (Not DS or this won't work) and a game Link gable. Oh, and you need another R/S/E game as well.

Start up R/S/E and choose a starter, it doesn't matters wich one. Beat Zigzagoon and retrieve the starter. Go north until you fight your rival, then when you get your Pok�balls, catch a Pok�mon, any will do. Go to the trade center, listen to Teala then go to the Direct corner to trade.

Start up the other R/S/E and go to direct corner with two Pok�mon you don't mind loosing. Trade the starter from the first game for one of the Pok�mo0n, then wait for it to save. Repeat the process.

When you get to the part when you choose the third starter, do as usual, then catch 2 Pok�mon, and retrieve your two starters.

There's a few catches, though: They won't always obey.

If you have 0 badge: They obey until level 10.

If you have 1 badge: They obey until level 10.

If you have 2 badges: They obey until level 30.

If you have 3 badges: They obey until level 30.

If you have 4 badges: They obey until level 50.

If you have 5 badges: They obey until level 50.

If you have 6 badges: They obey until level 70.

If you have 7 badges: They obey until level 70.

If you have 8 badges: They obey at all levels.

2- HM Slaves:

Don't teach HM's to any of your party's Pok�mon. I recommend catching a Slakoth in Petalburg woods and teach him/her the following HM's as you progess: HM01 Cut, HM 06 Rock Smash and HM 04 Strength.

3- Levels at wich Pok�mon evolve:

Lotad: level 14, Seedot: level 14, Ralts: level 16, Taillow: Level 22, Marill: Level 18, Wingull: Level 25, Any starter: Level 16, then 36. For more info, visit http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/

4- Tips on how to beat Gym Leaders:

You might have a hard time beating Gym Leaders if you use the wrong Pok�mon (Though you might suceed anyways) so I'm here to tell you good Pok�mon for each of them:

Gym Leader 1: Roxanne: Use Treecko/Mudkip/Marril/Lotad/Seedot/Shroomish.

Gym Leader 2: Brawly: Use Kadabra/Ralts/Taillow/Wingull.

Gym Leader 3: Wattson: Use Marshtomp.

Gym Leader 4: Flannery: Use Marshtomp/Azumarril/Lombre/Pelliper.

Gym Leader 5: Norman: Use Blaziken/Breloom/Machoke.

Gym Leader 6: Winona: Use Manectric/Magneton/Electrode.

Gym Leader 7: Tate&Liza: Use Swampert/Mightyena.

Gym Leader 8: Juan: Use Sceptile/Raichu/Magneton/Electrode/Manectric.
