Question for Pokemon Crystal

Ok I have turned my Eevee from Goldenrod to Umbreon and now I want a Espeon I know how to evolve it into what but I don't know:
What do I breed my umbreon with to make another Eeeve? I bred it with my Typhlosion and I was sure it was going to make an Eevee but it hatched a Cyndaquil. I don't know how to make another Evee for an Espeon please help! Another thing
Does anyone know if the time it takes for a Pokemon to grow a level is measured in the steps you take or the seconds theyve been in the day care?
Thank you to anyone who helps.

Well, a very simple and easy way to get another Eevee is to catch a Ditto in the grass just outside the Daycare Center and put it in the Daycare with your Eevee.

I do it all the time for any Pokemon I want. Since Ditto can transform into any Pokemon it likes, it just transforms into the Pokemon it's with and has it's egg.

No, I don't think it does, it's supposed to be dependent on how much experience the Pokemon needs to evolve (check the Pokemon's stats, in the very first section, it says 'EXP POINTS ?????' and then below it it says 'LEVEL UP ?????? TO L.???'.

All you have to do is find Pokemon lower than the Pokemon you're trying to train's level or the same level and fight them until it gains a level.

All you do is catch a Ditto and give it and Umbreon to the Day-Care people.

Breed your Umbreon with a Pokemon that is DNA compatible.

As with Daycare leveling, every step you take equals one Exp. Point.

Well you could buy a Eeeve or just get a dito and put it in the daycare with umbreon.

Was your Umbreon a male and your Typhlosion female? That may have been the problem, you see, the baby gets it's species determined from the female and it's inherent movesets (if any) from the male. If that's the problem, simply put your Umbreon in the Daycare Center with a Ditto, and that should solve your problem. You can get all the Eevee evolutions in this manner.
Ditto's can be found right outside the Daycare Center on "Daytime" only, maybe Morning too, I can't remember, use Great Balls, even they are only Lvs. 10-13, they don't like being caught, use Great Balls to ensure safe capture.

In the Day-Care, steps. Thousands! of steps. I beat the Elite Four, four times and my Pokemon in the Day-Care only grew by a level! (Note, I'm exagerating a little bit, and, granted, the time depends on the species, so don't follow what I said to the letter.)
