How do I un-freeze time in Pokemon Crystal?

Recently I notices that the time in my game seemingly froze to a single time. I tried re-starting the game and the problem went on to no avail. I made a new save (over my old) and still no resolve. As for my activity prior to this error: I had been experimenting with the "Character Color Change" cheat as well as the "Get All Three Starter Pokemon" cheat... And ever since the time in the Pokegear has been froze. I do not use a game-shark or any emulators for my game. So can this error be fixed? How? Or is my Crystal Version trashed? And how can I prevent this in the future? Seize the use of cheats or what?

The bad news - Your game is beginning to fail. This eventually happens to all Game Boy and Game Boy Color games (although most noticable with the Pokemon ones). Firstly, the clock time will only progress when you're playing the game, and will stay put when you stop. Secondly, the PokeGear will stop working properly, and other weird things will happen in-game. And finally, the Continue option will disappear from the title screen, meaning that you can save as many times as you wish, but you'll only ever be able to start a new game.

The good news - Pokemon Gold and Silver are being remade for the DS as Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, so you'll be able to play the games properly again. They're out next year.

It means that your clock batrtery is dead. Replace battery.

The other guest is not right. Replacing a battery doesn't always fix this problem. It may have worked for others, but not for me. The game saves (due to the new battery), but clock-based events don't occur.
