Even though some pundits will like to put you down ahead of a match and say your team is inferior to the opposition, it's actually a smart thing to listen to your pundits every now and then. Believe it or not, pundits will actually give you some insight on where the momentum lies between your team and your upcoming opponent. This might not always bring the brightest news to your created manager, but it should help you adjust accordingly by getting in more practice time and delivering good Pre-Match Briefing and Talks (hopefully to help switch momentum in your favor).
On top of this, pundits will provide you with details about your upcoming foe in case you missed it ahead of time. If you aren't big on actually analyzing your upcoming opposition and developing a scheme around them the long and hard way, reading the footnotes about them from your pundits can actually start to help you build a game plan against them. And the better you scheme against a foe, the better your team will do (or hopefully should) against them.
More often than not, you will have to prove your pundits wrong; however, there are a few instances where they will be quite helpful to you. If you want to become a manager unlike any other, you will learn how to decipher the good from the Bad in regards to your pundits. Take their criticism of your managerial style with a grain of salt, but use their hints about your upcoming matches and rivals to your advantage!
