Always Play To Your Strengths

Within the newer, updated Tactic System in Football Manager 2018, managers will now be able to see where potential weaknesses can be found in their scheme. Because of this, some people actually think it would be wiser to focus on their weaknesses rather than play to their strengths when on the field of play. Honestly, it's very easy to fall into the mental trap of concentrating completely on your team's weaknesses instead of playing solely to their strengths. However, this can actually leave your team compromised in terms of offense.

The truth is that each and every Tactic and scheme will have both advantages and disadvantages; this is just a fact. And that's why it's always better to play to your strengths than try to prevent something from happening due to your weaknesses. In order to prevent your weaknesses from being exposed but while yet still sticking to what your club is good at, try simply finding a better balance between the two. Keep to what your club knows Best, but try tweaking your tactic every now and then in hopes of preventing opposing teams from exploiting the frail points in your Tactics.
