You’ve bagged a few victories against the Guild Master and you finally get the hang of it. This is great news! At long last, you can join the realm of the living and battle against live competitors.

But as soon as you try your first few PvP battles, you’ll find out that there is much to more you need to learn out there no matter how well-equipped you are. There would always be someone to defeat the Deck that you have so much confidence in. But don’t fret – for this is all but normal. Let’s break it all down to pieces to get you a better understanding of Fable Fortune's depth and mechanics.

By now, you know that cards in Fable Fortune can loosely be broken down into unit cards, and spell cards. You also know that while some unit cards are pretty straightforward (basically have attack and health), most of them have additional special abilities or effects – triggered by different circumstances in the game. This gives the simple card game, a lot of depth – especially when there is synergy from the combination of cards that are played.

To get a better understanding of how these special cards behave on the game, check the Card Special Abilities section of this guide. If you wish to try your combos, put together a Deck that incorporates the cards that will trigger your planned combo, and test it with the guild master(training mode) several times. Try figure out how to pull it off while playing, how effective it is, and the percentage of chance that you can actually make it work. All of this sums up the very balance of your deck.

There are many synergies of cards in the game. Some are especially effective when used with certain Heroes. The point is, heroes can make a Deck perform better, and the card effects themselves can be compounded with other card effects to make a deck powerful in numerous ways. The key is to understand the card’s effect, its trigger, and how it can benefit you when it is played with other cards.

Tips:

Don’t overplay the cards at your hand

Try to put into play the cards that you only need to stay ahead of the match. Never exhaust your hand with cards (especially spells) unless you are absolutely sure you can win the game. Remember not to lay down all the big guns or options at a single turn – especially that there are spells that can easily wipe out all your minions in one go.

Don’t play more cards than you need to, especially if you have already gained a significant lead over your opponent. You’ll never know when the tides will turn. It is better for you to have a well equipped hand when bad situation arises.

Be smart when taking down your opponent’s units

Check the best option on how you’d sequence your attack. If you sacrifice three of your fighters to get rid of one of your opponent’s, that won’t do you any good. However, if you can take out a number of your opponent’s fighters, less than yours, then that’s a good play.

Additional Draw from Special Cards

Consider adding a few cards (to your Deck) with the ability to draw additional cards (or better, specific cards) from your card pool to your hand. Additional cards at hand will always give you more options to put into play and maintain a good pace in the game.

Good Card Combos can make your Fighters strong but…

Buffing cards do you a lot of good especially when you get the chance to put them into play. This can give you tough tanks that are hard to put down. But be mindful about how your opponent can take advantage of this especially with reflect spells, or spells that can potentially use this power against you. Checking the balance of your cards is also important, you don’t want an over abundance of spell cards when you can’t summon the fighters that would put them into good use.

Don’t Over-complicate your Combos

If you build your Deck with a ton of combinations in there, you’re that much more likely to waste your time or turns - waiting for the exact order of things to come. Focus on a synergy that can call upon a combo or two in many different ways. Make sure to bring in a hefty number of fighters that could defend you while waiting for your combo to come up on hand. Also, do not let you on-hand cards sit for too long. If you have a spell card or a unit card that can get you the advantage, don’t restrain yourself from using it.

When Salvaging Cards

Salvage is basically destroying the card for its ink (as ink is used in making one as well) When you choose to Salvage a card, an option will ask you how many copies of this card do you wish to salvage. Be mindful that it can easily include the cards that belong to your active Deck.
