Training Mode:

In training mode, you get to test the scope and limits of the game as well as to familiarize all its accompanying components. You can practice with the Guild Master and pick any hero (or play-style) you want as there is no penalty whatsoever in playing this mode. The Guild Master happens to not have any hero abilities so this one should be a handicapped battle in your favor.

You may pick this mode whenever you are testing the synergy of your cards (if ever you’re trying to pull through a stratagem). Players 9especially newbies) don’t put much consideration on the balance of the card with respect to their summoning values (tougher fighter being the ones that are more expensive to summon). You can try out the balance of your cards by playing through this mode first.

PVP Mode:

The basic go to place to participate in online battles. This is where you get to play a legit game that earns you both experience and Silver whether you win or lose. It is important to know that you should never withdraw from your battles to earn the experience and silver. Losing will grant you minimal experience and 7 silver, while winning a battle should earn you as much as 50 Silver.

You are also rewarded with random neutral cards whenever you win a game. This should be helpful as you get to salvage ink from multiple copies of the same cards – which you can use to craft other cards that you don’t have. The game automatically picks a contender for you and sets the battle which makes it hard to guess what type of play or which hero may be effective against the opponent.

COOP Mode:

In Co-Op you and your ally will face off against a boss opponent. They’ll have their own unique Deck, and seemingly unique cards and abilities that will put you and your companion's deck to the test. For the most part Co-Op is relatively similar to PvP. You and your ally will still have to pick your Heroes, your deck, as well as your quests. The main difference is that, when a unit is summoned (whichever player), both players will be able to take control of it.

You will also take turns with your ally to play, with the Boss taking a turn in between each player turn. It takes a veteran to play the Co-op mode as one should be good on figuring out what pattern or play-style his/her co-player is putting together. And since synergy is the key to winning the battles in the game, requires one to be versatile enough to keep up with his/her team-mates play-style.

Special Event:

Special events are played similarly to the online PVP mode. They take place over a special location (background) with accompanying backing lore related to the special event’s active theme. Playing and winning in this mode usually reward you with special items that are useful in Crafting as they save you at least 25 percent of ink cost per item (given that the item is a designated recipe for crafting a pertaining card). Winning on a special event will also reward you with Silver.
