What is The Abyss

One of the game modes in The Elder Scrolls: Blades is The Abyss which is an endless dungeon where the objective is to see how many levels you can make it through. The Abyss has been built in a way where each floor level is representative of a player level and the further down into it you go the deadlier the enemies and the bigger the rewards. The Abyss is unlocked by getting your character to level 3. You can switch weaponry and swap out spells and abilities while in The Abyss and you will not recieve the XP you earn from The Abyss until your run is over. This Abyss Guide will tell you everything you need to know about this mode.

Floor Levels

Eventually as you progress through each of the floor levels of the dungeon you will reach some stairs that will take you to the next floor level. At this point you will be rewarded some gold and XP. The enemies you encounter in each of the floor levels will be harder to defeat the further down into the dungeon you go. The type of enemies you meet in each floor level are random. Once you manage to reach floor level 8 you will start to get a multiplier that will increase the XP and Gold you earn per floor level you complete. If you die or stop your run you will be able to return to floor levels you have previously been to.

Loot

To obtain loot you need to kill enemies to fill up the progress bar that surrounds the piece of loot on the top right of your screen. Once you manage to achieve this you will obtain that piece of loot and a new piece of randomised loot will take its place.

Enemies

You will not earn any XP for killing enemies, however you will earn a small bit of gold for each one you kill. There is no point searching the floor levels as there is no loot scattered anywhere. Your objective is to stay alive and reach the stairs that take you to the next floor level and gain the reward for doing so. If you have the spell Absorb, make sure to use it during every fight as it will recharge your Magicka fast allowing you to keep your health up without having to drink potions.

Death

Once you have been killed your run is over. However you can use a Scroll of Revival to bring yourself back to life and continue your run. If you do not have this scroll you can continue your run by paying Gems. Your progress in The Abyss is saved so when you enter back into the Abyss you will continue from the last level floor you completed.
