Gameplay

The Monk takes on the support role among all heroes. His towers and abilities heal allies, reduce incoming damage, or boost damage of towers and other heroes. However, the Monk is not entirely helpless. His Lightning Aura tower is very potent and has good AoE (area-of-effect) range. When partnered with the Huntress' Geyser Traps which drenches enemies with water, the Lightning Aura deals even greater damage. The Sky Guard tower is a bane of flying enemies, capable of hitting multiple targets per shot. The Monk's Pole Smash is a powerful, short-range attack that has a little splash range. Chi Blast is a good crowd control move, capable of piercing through multiple enemies and pushing them back. This is augmented by the Monk's Concussive Chi Spec which adds a stun chance to enemies hit with his secondary attack.

The Monk's Boost Aura is best deployed in the middle of other heroes' towers, especially near blockades. This increases their resilience against enemy attacks while boosting any offensive towers behind them. In the other hand, the Monk's Serenity Aura provides continuous healing for any hero within its range. This is quite useful for close-range heroes like the Squire and Monk who tend to get up close and personal. This is also a good back-up for the heroes' Heal ability, should they fall back to the safety of their defensive line to heal up.

The Monk's Specs are quite flexible; if he wants to take on a support role mostly, allocating points to Lightning Damage, Boost Blockade Health, and Concussive Chi allows him to further increase the effectiveness of his Lightning Aura and Boost Aura towers. Concussive Chi gives him the breathing space and stall needed when the blockade is about to be overrun. An offensive monk will concentrate in increasing points to his two stances and his Empowering Calm Spec.
