How to Create Power-Ups

Putting together a standard 3-piece combo will detonate the pieces involved and do little else, to be able to yield additional benefits you need to put together combos to make power-ups (somethimes referred to as 'specials') tol produce different effects when activated that will significantly help you clear the board. Line Clear

This power-up is created by putting together a line of 4 identical crystals. When a Line Clear combination detonates everything in a horizontal or verticle orientation to where the crystal is pointing will detonate.

Ice Butterfly

This power-up is created by a combo of 4 crystals that make a square formation. Ice Butterflies will clear the spot they are in and adjacent tiles in the shape of a ' ' . When this power-up is detonated a butterly is released that flies towards a target crystal and destroys it. This makes the Ice Butterfly power-up particularly useful when you need to destroy a target on the board, but have no pieces nearby to combo with it.

Blast Snowflake

This power-up is created by a combo of 5 crystals that are arranged in a T or L formation which when detonated create a large explosion centered on the piece.

Rainbow Snowflake

This power-up is created by matching 5 crystals in a straight line. When you swap this power up with a crystal, all crystals of that colour will be removed from the board. This is the best power-up for removing a lot of pieces and should be used wisely.

Special Piece Combinations

Line Clear Line Clear:

Clears a row and column in a shape of a ' '.

Line Clear Crystal Blast:

Clears 3 rows and 3 columns at once.

Crystal Blast Crystal Blast:

When you combine 2 Crystal Blast power-ups, the explosion radius is much bigger, clear several crystals and any obstacles that may be in the way.

Crystal blast Ice Butterfly:

The Ice Butterfly flies with the Crystal Blast, lands on a random crystal and then detonates. Line Clears can also be combined with Ice Butterfles to produce the same effect.

Ice Butterfly Ice Butterfly:

Creates 3 ice butterflies which fly to random objects on the board and clear them.

Rainbow Crystal Crystal Blast, Line Clear or Ice Butterfly

All power-ups are cloned and scattered all over the board where they are then activated automatically clearing a chunk of crystals.
