How to Light 9 Lamps Puzzle (Lost Runes Quest)

The Lost Runes quest is automatically unlocked after you inspect the pedestal during the previous quest, Restoring Order. During Lost Runes second objective you will be given a Lamp Puzzle that must be solved in order to progress. To successfully solve the puzzle you need to light all 9 lamps at once. When you light a lamp you will light up the lamps directly next to it, but if you light a lamp next to one that is already lit, then the lit one will extinguish. The solution to this puzzle is not as difficult as it seems providing you know what to do.

The easiest way to solve the puzzle is to go to the giant book to the left of the lamps. This book can be read and contains the solution. To summarize it, you must interact with the lamps in the four corners, it does not matter which order you do it. What is important is that you do not interact with any of the lamps other than those otherwise you will need to reset the puzzle and start again. Once the four corners are lit you then just need to interact with the lamp in the center. Once all 9 lamps are lit, their flames will shoot towards the rune about them and then extinguish. You will then be rewarded with gold, loot, and experience points and be able to grab the rune. The rune is part of the quest and by following the quest marker through the Library of Zoltun Kulle you will know where it needs to be placed.
