What are Nero's Devil Breakers

 

Devil Breakers are robotic prosthetic arms built by Nero's engineer friend Nico to replace the original 'Devil Bringer' arm that was ripped from Nero by a mysterious hooded figure. The Devil Breaker is used by Nero as a weapon and is able to carry up to four cartridges by default, with eight being the total number available in the base game, with additional types being offered as DLC. The Devil Breaker allows Nero to make combos and powerful attacks, depending on what he equips. It also lets him use the ability Wire Snatch - sending a wire that can pull enemies towards Nero or bring Nero closer to his targets. This move is available by default even if Nero has no Devil Breaker part equipped.

When you play as Nero Devil Breakers will spawn during every stage of gameplay. You can also use the red phone booth to summon Nico's van and item shop. Nero's Devil Breakers can be purchased from this shop and can be used to replenish your supply of carried items.



Below is a list of the different Devil Breakers that are available for Nero along with what they can do and how much they cost from Nico's shop.

Overture


This is the standard Devil Breaker arm in Devil May Cry 5. It can be used to send out a single electrical shock, or it can be charged up for a massive discharge.
Overture costs 500 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Gerbera


This is the most agile and mobile Devil Breaker arm in Devil May Cry 5. It can either be used to evade attacks, or send an energy beam through enemies.
Gerbera costs 500 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Punch Line


This is a powerful Devil Breaker arm that can either be used to send a single explosive rocket, or charge Punch Line up to send out one powerful rocket punch, which Nero can actually mount.

Helter Skelter


This is an armour piercing Devil Breaker arm that can use it's projectiles to break through enemy guards. This Devil Breaker arm is effective in the later stages of the game when you encounter a lot of enemies with shields.
Helter Skelter costs 1,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Tomboy


This Devil Breaker arm is tricky to use effectively and basically powers up Nero's sword and pistol for a short time after use. It is particularly effective if you are stranded in the middle of a huge battle with multiple enemies.
Tomboy costs 1,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Buster Arm


This is the most experimental and technical Devil Breaker arm in Devil May Cry 5. You can use the charged ability, plus the Devil Bringer ability to kill a single enemy in one hit.
The Buster Arm costs 3,500 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Rawhide


This Devil Breaker arm resembles a massive metal whip. You can use it to either strike enemies from a distance, or use it to reel them in for a massive follow up attack.
Rawhide costs 1,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Ragtime


This Devil Breaker arm can shoots out a field that slows all enemies within its radius.
Ragtime costs 2,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Gerbera GP-01


This Devil Breaker arm is an upgraded version of the standard Gerbera arm. It has an increased mobility distance and range, giving Nero an even greater range on his dodges using the arm.
The Gerbera GP-01 arm costs 500 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Pasta Breaker


This Devil Breaker arm is pretty useless in battle.
The Pasta Breaker costs 2,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Sweet Surrender


This is the only Devil Breaker arm that can recover Nero's HP, it was created by Nico for Nero to relieve Kyrie's tension.
Sweet Surrender costs 3,500 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.


Mega Buster (Deluxe Edition)


This Devil Breaker arm pays homage to the Mega Man series and shoots long range projectiles at enemies making it effective for when you don't want to get up close to your foe.
The Mega Buster arm costs 1,000 Red Orbs from Nico's shop.
