How to Control Nightmare in Devil May Cry 5

In Devil May Cry 5 a new third playable character called V was introduced. V is a human who has demonic abilities you can control. One of these powers is an ability to enter a state similar to Devil Trigger, which causes the black ink in his hair to disappear, revealing his natural white hair, and allows him to augment his familiars' strength and summon Nightmare. V's third demon who lives up to its name with its insane power.

How to Control Nightmare

To be able to control V's third demon in Devil May Cry 5 you will need to have at least three Devil Trigger gauges. Once you have this requirement you just need to press LB (Xbox One) or L2 (PlayStation 4) on your controller to release Nightmare's power. Although the demon is able to act on its own on the battlefield there is the option of having V control it. To control the demon you need to open V's Nightmare tab and look for the ability 'Promotion' and unlock it.

Compared to V's other two demons Nightmare is slow and sluggish, it does however make up for this setback by possessing insane power and lethal laser beams. Nightmare also has plenty of stamina and has the ability to soak up plenty of punishment. When summoned Nightmare will either crash onto the battlefield like a meteorite, or burst through parts of the environment to heed the call.

The other two familiars V is able to call upon in Devil May Cry 5 is an avian demon known as Griffin that wields electricity to fight enemies and Shadow a demon which takes the form of a beast and can shape shift into different weapons that guard V.
