Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a game about how the United States is on the brink of nuclear war by the threat of terroists. You play has a soldier assigned to help disrupt the terroist forces. There is also a multiplayer option, for single-card and multi-card use.
Call of Duty has been known for it's realistic graphics, especially for the PC. The graphics are fairly decent for a DS game. Most effects are realistic, and movement is pretty fluid. The fact that all the terroists look exactly the same, however, hurts it's score.
Gamers like games that help them feel that they are in the middle of the action. Call of Duty 4 helps do that with intense, realistic sound effects. If your character sprints for a long period of time, you can actually hear him gasping for breath. Though music is fairly absent from the game, the sound effects are pretty well-developed.
Call of Duty has mainly been a multiplayer game. Therefore, developers of this game did not really focus too much on the main campaign. As a result, the game's storyline is quite repetitive. Getting a game over is probably the hardest thing to do in the game, since enemy soldiers do not chase you. When you are almost dying, you can basically hide behind a wall and heal.
For all other gaming consoles, Call of Duty has online play. The developers for the DS had an oppurtunity for this as well, thanks to Nintendo Wi-Fi. They did not, however, so multiplayer is obsolete. Also, the game's campaign on easy and normal difficulty can be beaten in a day or two. The game is way too short.
This game had high expectations, but those were basically thrown away once the game was made. The maximum amount of time someone would spend playing this game in their lifetime is probably eight hours. Therefore, this game is completely bad, even in the multiplayer aspect. Buying this game is a waste of money, unless you really want to play Call of Duty on a handheld.
