Professor Oak Receives Alolan Form?!?!

Just shortly after the news of the Aether Foundation and Ultra Beast came another internet clip further showcasing gameplay for the upcoming Pokemon Sun & Moon. Really, there was no new information leaked in said video – outside of PokeRide options inside the games being call Lapras Swim, Sharpedo Jet & Charizard Flight - except for a new character that remarkably resembles that of Professor Oak.

This Oak is of an entirely different style and race altogether, but, apparently, is Professor Oak’s Cousin, Samson Oak. Samson, who looks like the Alolan Form of the original Professor, will, not surprisingly, describe Alolan Forms to the players themselves. Outside of this, however, Samson Oak looks to have no other cameos.

So what do you think about Samson? Do you think it’s a good twist on an old character? Or do you think the Pokemon Company continues to spiral in the downward motion for what seemed like a rushed effort of Pokemon Sun & Moon?
