10 Essential Console Games for 2016

10. Quantum Break

Last but most certainly not least on this list, as this is the game I have been looking forward to the most, is Quantum Break. As a huge fan of the Alan Wake series, this game was originally intended to be a continuation of that saga. Developers took a more “Sci-Fi” approach and made this about time travel and its effects on people. As with other Remedy titles such as Alan Wake, MUCH effort has gone into the backstory development for this game, so we can absolutely expect this to play through like a gripping story just as Alan Wake did. During the development, the team consulted with actual scientists when creating the fictional science in this game. Much like the semi-sequel to Alan Wake, Alan Wake: American Nightmare, this title will feature live action video with the use of the actors whose likenesses are used for the character models within the game. In this game, combat sequences are very unique. There are enemies who can manipulate time, heavily armored enemies with heavy firearms, and many others, each with different dynamics and behaviors. You'll have to adjust your tactics to be able to defeat them all. It's no Alan Wake 2, but from the looks of it, we have nothing to complain about.

Keep an eye out for these titles this year and make the most of your console. Many of us survival horror fans were disappointed with the cancellation of “Silent Hills” featuring Norman Reedus, but regardless of your genre of choice, 2016 has some solid titles that will keep us quite entertained for the foreseeable future. Game on!
