Pokemon Dream World not a Nightmare

-- Inside the Dream World --

Professor Fennel is your host in the Dream World, there to guide you when you first visit. The Dream World is largely her invention -- you helped her by getting the substance that she needed in the Dreamyard if you recall, when you were playing your game.

As she explains Game Sync to you, you learn what the Extralink Facility really is on your Map in the game!

She tells you to visit the Extralink Facility after you play with your Pokemon in the Dream World to see that their dream has become a reality -- and points out that you can only tuck your Pokemon in once a day, and play for an hour once a day.

Next she tells you about the island that you enter the Dream World at, and the house there that belongs to you -- and she gives you some berries to grow in the Dream World that you can take back to real world with you when you leave.

Following that you see a brief movie and then you arrive in the Dream World, where your Pokemon waits for you on the island in front of their house!

There is a bit more that she tells you -- about berries, about Dream Pals, and other aspects of the world -- but soon enough you are clicking on your front door and entering your house for the first time, and learn about the Treasure Chest and Friend Board. You can redecorate your house but to do that you need berries -- because berries are money in the Dream World.

In addition to the house screen you have a Share Shelf where you can place items to share with Trainers who visit you, there is the Dream Bridge that can be crossed under the right circumstances, and there is your Garden, where you can plant and grow berries!

At the moment your Garden only has 6 spots in its two beds for you to use in growing berries, but that will change eventually -- still when you first visit it you should plant the berries you have to get the ball rolling.

On the other side of the bridge is the opportunity to befriend Pokemon you do not have in your game, and bring them back to add to your collection and your Dex!

-- Over the Bridge --

Crossing the Bridge to the Island of Dreams, a place where you can actually capture Pokemon and take them back to your game!

When you find a Pokemon in a moving bush you then play a mini-game in which you have to hunt for a specific Pokemon or open a certain number of balls within the time limit -- and if you manage to do it, you befriend that Pokemon! You can also find berries in sparkling bushes. You are allowed to make ten area moves on Dream Island, playing whatever games you want and gathering what berries you can find, and then you visit the Dream Tree, where you can use a berry to make a wish -- and add one of the Pokemon you have befriended to your party!

-- Visits and Pals --

When you return to your home after your first visit to the Dream Island chances are very good that by then a lot of Trainers will have visited your home -- and you may have more than a few Pal Requests as a result! You will see a notice of these visits when you return home, and have the opportunity to visit these new friends at their home as well.

When you get home view the mat in front of your door to see who has visited you -- and to visit them and add them as Dream Pals. Once you do that you can visit their Garden, and swap gifts on their Shelf!

As you add friends and play games you add Dream Points to your score -- and these can be used to unlock new areas in the Dream World -- and scoring points has other advantages as well, like leveling up your sleeping Pokemon for a start!
