Top 15 Toughest Pokemon Battles of All-Time

#7 - Kanto Champion Blue Rematch (FireRed / LeafGreen)

Another selection down, and yet another Blue Rematch on the books. This time, however, its the championship rematch found in FireRed and LeafGreen. Unlike his team that you will battle when you first arrive at Indigo Plateau, this team is far greater in every single way.

To start, all of his Pokemon are anywhere from 10-15 Levels higher than what you saw the last time you met. Since there aren't too many trainers on the Sevii Islands, this jump could come as a shock to you and your Pokemon. On top of that, he added the powerhouses of Heracross and Tyranitar. When you factor them into him his final evolution Starter Pokemon, Alakazam, and two of either Gyarados, Arcanine, and Exeggutor, his team is full of extremely strong Pokemon.

You're in for a fight, one you might have to face losing for once.

#6 - Unova Champion Alder (Black / White)

Unlike every champion in the history of Pokemon, you actually couldn't face Alder in the original Fifth Generation Games until after the main storyline. It was a little different, but who couldn't admit that N and Team Plasma truly stole the show of those games. They were one of the most iconic antagonist groups ever created, and they deserved to change the whole outlook of a game.

But when you were finally able to battle Alder, you had a challenge on your hands. First off, all of his Pokemon were at least at Level 75, which is pretty scary on it's own. That's 3/4 the maximum levels of Pokemon, which is certainly high for any NPC Character. On top of that, they gave him some of the purely strong Unova Pokemon in the game: Accelgor, Bouffalant, Druddigon, Vanilluxe, Escavalier, and, who could forget, Volcarona. He was headache, like most other champions, and it takes a variety of powerful Pokemon of various types to even stand a chance against him.
