******************************************************************************

Hey Guys, welcome to my next guide in my series of works. As you can tell
from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help all
players playing this game unlock all the achievements/trophies (including the
DLC ones). This game didn't have an achievement guide, so I figure I write
one. Also, you may find this guide in the GOTY (Game of the Year) version of
this game as well, however, I'm not sure if GameFAQs will let me get away with
this since I'm trying to post this quide for both the GOTY (Game of the Year)
and original versions. I know you guys probably don't like long Intros, so
I'll get on with the guide already.

Warring: This guide can and will contain spoillers. I will do my best to not
spoill stuff from the game, but sometimes it just can not be helped, so read
at your own risk.

Note: I am aware that there is a PC and PS3 versions of the game, but as far
as I know, there's no achievement reward thing going on with either version,
so this will be the only time it'll be mentioned.

| Stage 3: Achievement Overview |
******************************************************************************

Achievement difficulty (on a scale of 1 through 5, 5 being the hardest): 3

Number of Achievements: 50 (without Shivering Isles)
                        60 with Shivering Isles

Least amount of playthroughs to get all Achievements: 1

Number of Missable Achievements

Main Game - 0
Shivering Isles - 2

Details: This game is a bit tricky to play and even more tricky trying to get
100% on. Trying to play through the game... that's not the tricky part, nor
is trying to get the achievements themselfs. The tricky part of this game
is... *drum roll* leveling up. In the Fallout games, this isn't too much of a
problem, because you can playthrough the game and not worry about it too much
(that or you glitch your way to the level cap). In this game, leveling up
will have to be the first thing on your mind. In Fallout 3, the level cap is
at 20 (unless you downloaded Broken Steel, in which case it would be at 30).
In Fallout: New Vegas (the game I wrote an achievement guide for), the level
cap is at 30 (unless you picked up the DLC packs which rasies the level cap by
5 each making it a total of 50 if all the remaining DLC packs keeps rasing the
level cap). In this game, the level cap is dependent on your major skills and
Attributes (more details in a bit). You could go through the game without
leveling up, but it might make things trickier than it already is. You have
the ability to put the difficulty slider into any difficulty you want, so
slide it all the way to the left for the easiest difficulty setting. To do
this, press the start button, go to "options", then "gameplay". You should
see the slider. You can also do this if you happend to be in the game's main
menu, only you don't have to press the start button. Doing this will let you
go about the game at a low level, without things being too tricky.

Also, if you level up, foes will level up with you. Because of this you'll
want to be at a level where things are not that tricky, but foes are not that
strong either. The ideal level is 50, but again, it's dependent on your major
skills and attributes, so could end up being higher or lower than that.

In the Fallout Games, your major skills (or Tag skills) are the skills you
plan on using often. Here, it works the other way around. For every 10
points in your major skills department, you gain a level up. Everytime you
level up, you get to a point (or more depending on what skills (major or no)
into what ever 3 attributes you want. You can get it to where you get +5 in
the two attributes you want. Once you hit 100 with all attributes, you stop
leveling up all together. Here are the attributes you need to max out, and
the skills that are related to them.

Strength
Related skills: Blade, Blunt, Hand To Hand

Intelligence
Related skills: Alchemy, Conjuration, Mysticism

Willpower
Related skills: Alteration, Destruction, Restoration

Agility
Related skills: Security, Stealth, Marksman

Speed
Related skills: Acrobatics, Athletics, Light Armor

Endurance
Related skills: Armorer, Block, Heavy Armor

Personality
Related skills: Illusion, Mercantile, Speechcraft

Luck
Related skills: None

You'll notice that Luck is not tied to any skills. I'm not sure the reason
behind this, but all Luck effects is what happends around you. Because of the
fact Luck is not tied to any skills, you'll want to max this out ASAP, so
choose that every time you level up until you max it out. Endurance is also
an attribute you'll want to level up and max out, because it gives you more
health. The last attribute to max out is up to you, but I suggest you do
Strength, so you can carry more and more stuff you find in the world of
Oblivion.

Sometime during the tutoral mission, you'll get to choose your class. The
game will give you a choice of which class you want to be, but I suggest you
create a class (yes, the game does give you that option), so you get to choose
how you want to play through the game (basicly). I'll go into more details in
the acutal guide.

To help you along the way, here are several links to various guides written by
various writters.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Stage 4: The Game's Non-DLC Achievements and How to unlock them -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the meat of this guide. Here, I'm going to seperate the achievements
by questline. There are 6 different questlines in the main game.

1. The Main Quest (obviously)
2. The Dark Brotherhood
3. The Arena Battles
4. The Thieves Guild
5. The Mages Guild and last but not least...
6. The Fighters Guild

I will go in order of how I number them, starting with the Main Quests.

The Main Quest

Note: All achievements in this group are all story-related, so none of them
can be missed.

1. Escaped the Imperial Sewers
Description: Escaped the Imperial Sewers, Main Quest Beginning
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: This will be the first achievement you unlock no matter how you play
through the game. This mission is nothing more than a tutorial on how the
game works. Once you pass the tutorial, the achievement will unlock. The way
this game does the character creation process is not the best way I've seen so
far in my years of playing RPGs (and I don't play that many), so I'll walk you
through it.

After the opening scene, you will decide on the following for your character:

A. The character's name
B. The character's race
C. The character's gender and...
D. The way your character looks

Your character's name and how he/she looks is cosmetic, so do whatever you
want with those. Your character's race and gender however, will determine
your character's starting attributes. The default for race and gender is a
Male Imperial. I will go in order of all the possible races your character
could be, the attributes of both genders of the race, their skill bonuses and
the races' abilities going from A to Z.

Note: Luck, reguardless of what race you choose will be at 50.

Being a Breton or a Redguard seems to be the best choice for beginners, Breton
because they have a good magicka to start off with, and Reguard because they
are good when it comes to combat. Once you cutomize how your charater looks,
carry on until you come across the Emperor for the second time. When you talk
to the Emperor for the second time, he'll ask you what birthsign you were born
under. Here are all the signs the character could be born under, the pros and
cons of that sign and my take on this sign.

Note: For the ones that actually have a special ability, you have to wait 24
hours (game time) before you are allowed to use it again.

A. Apprentice
Pros: Maximum Magicka goes up by +100
Cons: Character's Weakness to Magicka is at 100%
My take: This sign is a bit risky for mages. Having extra magicka is not a
bad thing, but enemy spellcasters can and will kill you really quick if your
not careful. Bretons might be able to counter act this because of their spell
absorbtion ability. Overall through, you shouldn't consider this sign.

B. Atronach
Pros: Maximum Magicka goes up by +150 and Spell Absorbtion goes up by 50%
Cons: Magicka does not regenerate
My take: I don't understand why Bethesda Softworks thought anyone would even
consider taking this sign. Magicka not regnerating is enough for me to say
that you should stay away from this sign. If you want to regenerate magicka
with this sign, you would need to buy a lot of magicka restoring potions.
Bretons would not have to do this necessarily, because they could always
summon a spellcasting creature and have it "Attack" them, but still. The
amount of extra Magicka this sign provides and spell absorbtion is great
(especially for Bretons), but it's not really worth it.

C. Lady
Pros: Willpower and Endurance goes up by +10 each
Cons: There are better signs and Willpower is not that important
My take: This ones kind of decent. I never found Willpower to be that
important, but extra Endurance never hurts.

D. Lord
Pros: Has the Restore Health ability (magnitude 6, 15 sec duration)
Cons: Character's Weakness to fire is at 25% (constant effect)
My take: Do not take this sign. The ability to restore health sound nice,
but it's useless in higher levels. Besides, you'll be going through hell in
the world of Oblivion, so it'll be harder to play the game with this sign.

E. Lover
Pros: Has the Paralyze on touch ability (10 sec duration)
Cons: It cost 120 Fatigue, you can use Paralyze spells and potions in place of
this and in general, there are better signs
My take: This ones not too bad. Sometimes you might touch someone you are
suppose to talk to and they can't talk to you because they're paralyzed. Does
give you a chance to pickpocket someone as long as no one's looking through,
so the usefulness of this sign is up to you.

E. Mage
Pros: Maximum Magicka goes up by +50
Cons: Only it's not the highest extra Magika giving sign of all of them
My take: This one's a safe choice for Magic casters. I doesn't give you the
most extra Magicka like the Apprentice and Atronach, but this sign has no real
drawbacks.

F. Ritual
Pros: Restores Health by 100 and Turn Undead (100 magnitude) for 30 seconds
Cons: There are better signs out there
My take: Useful against the Undead (which I haven't seen that many yet) and
Not too bad if Restoreation is not one of your Major skills. Overall, this
sign is a mixed bag leaning towards good slightly.

G. Serpent
Pros: Has four different effects
Cons: Most of them do more harm than good
My take: The first effect is you have the Damage Health touch attack for 20
with a magnitude of 3. This one really good. The second effect is that you
are given Dispel with a magnitude of 90. I'm not sure what Dispel does, but
it doesn't sound useful. The third effect gives you the ability to cure
Poison. This sounds really nice, but potions will cover it. Besides, you
don't get to use it again until 24 game hours later, so that effect's decent
overall, but don't expect to use it that often. Finally, we have the fourth
effect which Damages your fatigue with a magintude of 100. Why would anyone
damage their own fatigue is beyond me. Overall, this sign only has one good
effect, so don't take this sign.

H. Shadow
Pros: Gives you the Invisibility ability for 60 seconds
Cons: The effect is overwritten if you perform an action like Lockpicking,
something as simple as opening a door, etc.
My take: This sign's great for stealth characters, quests that involve theift
and/or assassination and possibly the Shivering Isles DLC quests. There are
better signs out there, but you should at least consider this one.

I. Steed
Pros: Speed goes up by +20
Cons: Speed is not that important
My take: This does give you an addtion 20 points to speed, but you'll live
without it. If your bulid requires you to take this sign, then by all means
take it. Otherwise, pretend it's not there.

J. Thief
Pros: Agility, Speed and Luck goes up by +10 each
Cons: Speed is not that important and Agility is a mixed bag of importance
My take: This is actually not as bad as the Cons make it seem. Speed is not
high in the importantance department, and neither is Agility (though the
latter is dependant on your build), but any sign that rasies Luck is a really
decent sign to pick. With this sign, it's the Pros over the Cons. If you
are unsure which sign to take, you can't go too wrong with this one.

K. Tower
Pros: Alows you to open average locks, and has the Reflect Damage ability (120
second duration with a magnitude of 5)
Cons: There are better signs
My take: This one seems OK. The ability to open average locks may prevent the
leveling of the Security skill. On the plus side, Reflect Damage is not that
bad. Overall, this sign's a mixed blessing.

L. Warrior
Pros: Strength and Endurance goes up by +10 each
Cons: N/A
My take: This is the sign to take if your character's a fighter (or
specializes in combat). You'll be able to pick up more stuff with the
Strength increase, and more Health never hurts. Overall, you can't go wrong
with this sign.

From what you have read, I basicly said that The Mage, Shadow, Thief and
Warrior signs are all good picks. Take the Mage if you specialize in Magic or
the Warrior if you specialize in Combat. The Shadow's Invisibility ability
is worth the sign pick, but you can't go too wrong with the Thief. Once you
have picked your sign, carry on until the point where one of the guards talks
to you. Once he talks to you, he'll want to know what class you happend to be
and make his guess on what class you are. The game will give you a choice of
several pre-made classes, but I would suggest you make your own class. When
making a custom class, the game will first want you to choose what your
specialization is. The choices are Combat, Magic and Stealth. Combat gives
you a +5 increase in Armorer, Athletics, Blade, Block, Blunt, Hand-to-Hand and
Heavy Armor. Magic gives you a +5 increase in Alchemy, Alteration,
Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism and Restoration. Finally,
Stealth gives you a +5 increase in Acrobatics, Light Armor, Marksman,
Mercantile, Security, Sneak and Speechcraft. The game and the manual say you
actually get a +10 in all skills tied to the chosen specialization, but that
was an error that was not corrected nor patched.

Once you pick your specialization, the game will now give you a choice of
which two of the seven attributes you want to pick. The first one to take is
Luck, since it's the hardest to level up. The second one is up to you, but I
would take either Endurance or Strength. Endurance gives you more health,
while Strength alows you to carry more stuff. Which ever two you pick gets a
addtional +5 points.

Once that's out of the way, the game will want you to choose seven of the 21
skills as major skills. Which 7 you pick is up to you, but you want to pick
the skills that are easy to pull off, but you are not forced to do that skill.
Also, you generally don't want to pick skills that are tied your races' bonus
skills. Which every skills you take will get an addtional +20 to those
skills, starting off at the Apprentice level.

Once that's done, the game will now want you to name your class. Call this
whatever want, as it has no effect on anything. Once you are done creating
you class, press B to select it. With that out of the way, get to the end of
the Sewers, and the game will stop you and ask if you want to change anything.
Do this if you want, otherwise select "Finished - Exit Sewers". The
achievement will unlock then. I know that was a lot of reading, and I will
say I'm sorry for that, but like I said eariler, the character creation
process is not the best in the world.

2. Closed an Oblivion Gate
Description: Closed an Oblivion Gate, Main Quest
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: You'll get this achievement when you complete the "Breaking The Siege
of Kvatch" quest.

Youll need to fight your way up the main tower until you see an object called
a Sigil Stone floating in a pillar of flame at the very top of the tower.
Once you pick it up, youll be teleported back to Cyrodil and the gate will be
closed.

3. Located the Shrine of Dagon
Description: Located the Shrine of Dagon, Main Quest
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: You'll get this achievement when you complete the "The Path of Dawn"
quest.

In order to find out where the Shrine of Dagon is located, you need to find
all four volumes of the Mythic Dawn Commentaries and take them to Tar-Meena at
the Arcane University.

Book 1 - This book is recovered off of the body of a Mythic Dawn assassin who
tries to kill Baurus in the basement of Luther Broads Boarding House in the
Elven Gardens District of the Imperial City.

Book 2 - Tar-Meena gives you this book after you consult her about Book 1.

Book 3 - This book is at the First Edition bookstore in the Market District of
the Imperial City, but it is reserved for someone else. The easiest thing to
do is wait for the buyer to show up, purchase the book, and then tell him that
the Mythic Dawn assassinated the Emperor and he will give you the book.

Book 4 - Baurus will arrange a meeting with a member of the Mythic Dawn in the
sewers under the Elven Gardens. The meeting ends in an ambush and youll get
the final volume off of the body of one of the Mythic Dawn cultists.

Tar-Meena will help you decipher the puzzle of where the Mythic Dawn is
located. Shell send you to the Tomb of Prince Camarril in the Talos Plaza
District at midday. If youre there between 11:50 AM and 12:30 PM, youll see
the runes on the tomb glowing red and youll be able to activate them to
display a map of Cyrodil with the location of the cult hideout marked on it.

4. Delivered Daedric Artifact
Description: Delivered Daedric Artifact, Main Quest
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: You'll get this achievement when you complete the "Blood of the Daedra"
quest. There are 15 Daedric Artifacts in all, but you only need to deliver
one. Here's a link to all 15 Possible Artifacts created by Andrew X360 of
Xbox360achievements.org

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79899

The Main quest will direct you to Azura's Star, but any other Artifact will
work just as well.

5. Destroyed the Great Gate
Description: Destroyed the Great Gate, Main Quest
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: You'll get this achievement when you complete the "Great Gate" quest.
Destroying the Great Gate outside of Bruma is very similar to closing any
other Oblivion Gate except the region of Oblivion that you enter is somewhat
larger and youre facing a fifteen minute time limit, which begins once you
enter the gate. Upon entering the gate, youll see the siege engine in front
of you, the main tower in the distance, and six smaller towers, with three on
either side. Youll need to enter one of the two smaller towers thats
furthest away from you to trip the switch that opens one of the wargates and
gives you access to the main tower.

Start by running west along the lava shore until you reach the Smoke and
Scorch cave system. This system will allow you to access the two smaller
towers. It doesnt matter which one you enter; simply fight your way to the
top and flip the switch to open the wargate. Exiting out of the door halfway
up the tower will take you out onto a bridge facing the main tower. At this
point, simply fight your way up to the top of the tower. Given the
constraints of the time limit, its extensive fighting is not recommended -
simply run past as many enemies as you can. Once you grab the Great Sigil
Stone, youll be transported back to the battlefield outside Bruma and the
achievement will unlock.

6. Champion of Cyrodiil
Description: Completed the Main Questline
Gamerscore: 110
Guide: You'll win this achievement when you complete the final quest which is
called "Light the Dragonfires". The final quest requires you to escort Martin
to the Imperial City and receive the blessing of the Council before he becomes
Emperor. Unfortunately, Dagon launches a last ditch attack on the Imperial
City in an effort to stop Martin from lighting the Dragonfires. You must keep
Martin alive - Convalescence spells are especially helpful - and get Martin
from the Council Chambers to the Temple of the One. Dagon is immortal, so you
cannot kill him, but, if you deal enough damage in a single attack, then he
will be stunned for several seconds. There are also Daedra running around and
Martin is wearing only Imperial Robes, so hes quite vulnerable. Once you run
past Dagon and get Martin into the Temple, he will transform himself into the
Avatar of Akatosh and slay Mehrunes Dagon. After the final cinematic
sequence, the achievement will unlock.

As mentioned, this is the final mission, so you will be done with this
questline when it's all said and done. If you completed all the other
questlines before this point, then you will have beaten the game. Otherwise,
there is post gameplay to help you get any other achievements you missed
before this point.

The Dark Brotherhood

7. Murderer, Dark Brotherhood
Description: Join the Dark Brotherhood
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: Before you are alowed to join the Dark Brotherhood, you must kill an
innocent NPC. That NPC has to be nonessential to any of the story or guild
quests. You'll know if that happends to be the case if a message pops up and
says "Your killing has been observed by forces unknown ..." Find a bed to
sleep in after that, and a repersentive of the Dark Brotherhood will show up
after you wake up. He wants you to find and kill Rufio at the Inn of Ill
Omen. If you don't do this, you will not be able to progress down into this
questline, thus making this and all the Dark Brotherhood achievements
impossible to get. Once you make it to the inn, talk to the innkeeper, and
he'll tell you that Rufio is in the downstairs room through the hatch to the
right of the front door. You'll find Rufio in his room at the end of the
hall. Once you find him, kill him, then find a bed somewhere. Once you do,
the repersentive of the Dark Brotherhood will show up and the achievement will
unlock once he's done talking to you.

8. Slayer, Dark Brotherhood
Description: Reached Slayer rank in the Dark Brotherhood
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: For the remaining Dark Brotherhood achievements, you will need to
perform certian missions for in order to get various ranks and the
achievements for getting such ranks. To make this easier, I will tell you
what missions you will need to do in order to get the various ranks. However,
I will not tell you how to do them (that's what the link I gave you for the

conversation is done.

Gamerscore: 50

recive your final mission from Arquen of the Dark Brotherhood. To get this
rank you will have to complete the final mission for the Dark Brotherhood.
I can't go into details as to this mission, and I'm not saying that because of
what I said in the Slayer achievement. What I will say is that you'll unlock
this when you are talking to Nightmother after the final part of the mission.

you. Allow him to occupy the two other fighters while you focus on the
Champion. Be careful to avoid hitting him accidentally otherwise he will turn
on you.

22. Grand Champion, Arena
Description: Completed the Arena Questline
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: Refer to Brawler, Arena for details, but this time, you have to Ysabel
Andronicus to arrange your final fight. Your only opponent for this rank is
the Gray Prince. Beat him, take his armor (this battle will let you do this)
and the achievement's yours as well as the title of Grand Champion and a
choice of either light or heavy armor.

Note: If you talk to the Gray Prince at any time before this point, he will
ask you to investigate his past for him, starting a sidequest called "The
Origin of the Gray Prince". Once you find out his past, tell him and he'll
be, let's say, shocked about his past. He will let you kill him without a
fight when the time comes. I fear however that doing this will prevent this
achievement from poping.

Note 2: If you choose to kill the Gray Prince without a fight, it seems to
count as killing an innocent NPC, even though the Gray Prince was willing to
die.

The Thieves Guild

23. Pickpocket, Thieves Guild
Description: Joined the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: There are two ways you can join the Thieves Guild.

1. The first is to simply steal some items by breaking into a house or pick
pocketing someone. Then allow the guards to catch you and throw you into jail
for a bit. Once youre released, a representative of the Thieves Guild will
approach you.

2. You can also read one of the wanted posters for the Grey Fox posted around
the Imperial City. Doing so will add the "Grey Fox" conversation topic with
some NPCs. Find a beggar in the Imperial City and ask them about the Grey Fox.
If their disposition is high enough, they will ask you if you are looking for
him. If you say that you want to join him, they will tell you to go to the
Garden of Dareloth in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City at
midnight.

Armand Christophe, a representative of the Thieves Guild, will meet you and
two other potential recruits. The test for admission is race to which of the
three of you can steal the diary of Amantius Allectus and return it to Armand
first. To start, talk to the beggar Puny Ancus and bribe him to tell you the
location of the house. He will tell you that it is in the Temple District.
The house is actually right next to the door between the Temple District and
the Imperial City Arboretum. Break into the house and open the desk on the
right side of the room to take the diary. Return to Armand in the Garden of
Dareloth, give him the Diary, and he will admit you to the Thieves Guild. The
achievement will unlock as soon as the initial conversation with Armand is
finished.

24. Footpad, Thieves Guild
Description: Reached Footpad rank in the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: The promotion to Footpad requires you to perform one assignment,
Untaxing the Poor, for Armand. However, you won't be able to do this quest
until you have sold fifty gold worth of stolen goods to Ongar in Bruma. At
that point, return to the Garden of Dareloth and visit with Armand. He will
ask you to steal some collected taxes and tax records from the South
Watchtower.

The first floor is a public area. Enter between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM and there
should be no guards. Go up the ladder to the second level, take the ladder on
the left to go to the third floor, and then the next ladder on your left to
access Lexs private quarters. If youre seen on the second or third level,
youll be asked to leave, but if they catch you in Lexs quarters, youll be
arrested on sight, so make sure that youre sneaking or using chameleon or
invisibility spells. The desk with the records is immediately on your right
when you enter Lexs room. Steal the records and the gold and leave the
Watchtower the same way that you entered. Return to Armand at midnight and
give him the records. The achievement will unlock when the conversation with
Armand is over.

25. Bandit, Thieves Guild
Description: Reached Bandit rank in the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: The promotion to Bandit requires you to perform one assignment, The
Elven Maiden, for Armand. Before Armand will give you the quest, you must
have sold one hundred gold worth of stolen goods. Go to the chapel in
Cheydinhal and steal the bust of an elven maiden from the Undercroft there.
Be aware of the guard patrolling the area - she will attack you on sight and
youre not allowed to kill her. Steal the bust and return to the Imperial
City. Youll discover that a traitor has accused Armand of stealing the bust
and the Imperial Watch is covering the Waterfront and Armand is in hiding.

Find Methredhel and she will explain the situation to you. Youll need to
sneak into the house of Myvryna Arano, the traitor, and plant the bust in the
cabinet to the right of the room. Once thats been accomplished, tell
Hieronymus Lex that Arano has the statue. Lex must have a disposition thats
greater than seventy before he will believe you. At that point, he will
question and arrest Arano and you will be able to talk to Armand at midnight.
When you do, he will promote you Footpad and the achievement will unlock as
soon as the conversation is over.

26. Prowler, Thieves Guild
Description: Reached Prowler rank in the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: The promotion to Prowler requires you to perform a single assignment,
Ahdarjis Heirloom, for Skrivva in Bravil. Before she will give you the
assignment though, you must fence two hundred gold worth of stolen goods.
Skrivva will ask you to steal back a ring that was stolen by an independent
thief. You must find the rings owner, Ahdarji, in Leyawiin - you can find her
at her house, Five Claws Lodge at lunch, or at the Three Sisters Inn in the
evening. Find her and she will tell you that an Argonian named Amusei stole
it from her.

Talk to the beggers in Leyawiin and they will tell you that Amusei is in the
Leywiin Castle prison. Go to the Castle Dungeon and either bribe the jailor
to let you visit Amusei or pickpocket the key off of him. Talk to Amusei and,
if you give him a lockpick as a bribe, he will tell you that the ring
originally belonged to the Countess of Leyawiin and she has now recovered it.
Return and talk to Ahdarji and she will offer to pay you double to steal the
ring.

Enter the Castle, go straight through to the Throne Room, and wait until 1:00
Am. Then, enter the Basement all the way to the right of the thrones and find
the open-topped barrel against the south wall. The lever inside will open a
secret passage through the torture chambers and into the Countess bedroom.
Pick the lock on the door at the end, turn right, and pick the lock on the
door at the end of this hall. Another lever will open the exit. Go up the
stairs to the left and through the door. Avoid the guard, turn left, and
break into the Countess Room. The jewelry box is on the table to the right
of the bed. Break into it, steal the ring, escape the same way you entered,
and sell the ring to Ahdarji. Return to Skrivva and receive your promotion.
The achievement will unlock when the conversation with Skrivva is over.

27. Cat Burglar, Thieves Guild
Description: Reached Cat Burglar rank in the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: This promotion requires you to have fenced three hundred gold worth of
stolen goods. Talk to Skrivvva and she will tell that Hieronymus Lex has
invaded the Waterfront District looking for the Gray Fox. You must find
Methredhel and help her coordinate the Guilds response. Bribe a beggar in
the Imperial City and they will tell you that she is hiding in Dynari Amniss
house in the Talos Plaza District. Talk to her and she will tell you that you
and several operatives will steal several high-profile objects and force Lex
to reassign his watchmen.

You are to steal Hrormirs Staff from the Archmages room in the Arcane
University. Wait outside the Arcane University until 1:00 AM. Use the portal
in the lobby to go to the second level, and the portal there to access the
Archmages Quarters. The staff is at the foot of his bed, steal it, and place
the note in the nightstand to the left of the bed. Exit the University the
same way you entered and return to Methredhel. She will ask you to go to the
Waterfront and eavesdrop on Lex. You will see a Dremora deliver a note to
Lex, ordering him to return his men to their posts. Find the note after he
throws it on the ground and return to Methredhel.

She will ask you to return the staff, but you cant take it back to the
University. Instead, you will return it to the chest in the home of Ontus
Vanin in the Talso Plaza District. Break into his house and sneak up to the
second floor. You will find the chest in the corner of the room to the right
of the door. Place the Ice Staff in the chest and return to Skrivva for your
reward. The achievement will unlock when the conversation with Skrivva is
over.

28. Shadowfoot, Thieves Guild
Description: Reached Shadowfoot rank in the Thieves Guild
Gamerscore: 10

complete, and not how to do them to get a rank up. You need to complete the

700 for the second.

B. The Ultimate Heist

You need to fence 800 gold worth of stolen stuff for the first mission, and
1000 for the second. These are the final quests, so once you have become
Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild, you are done with this questline.

The Mages Guild

31. Associate, Mages Guild
Description: Joined the Mages Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: To start this questline and earn this achievement, all you need to do
is to join the Mages Guild. To do this all you need to do is ask the
repersentive of the Mages Guild to join. He/she will let you join as an
Associate unlocking the achievement and triggering the next quest for this
questline. You can find a repersentive at any of these towns:

Description: Reached Apprentice rank in the Mages Guild
Gamerscore: 10
Guide: In this achievement, you will have to get the recomendations of all the

achievement. Here's what you have to do to get these recomendations:

Note: I stole the following info below for how to get these recomendations
from the Xbox360achievements.org's version of the Oblivion achievement guide,
so give that site credit for this.

A. Anvil - The Anvil recommendation can be obtained from Carahil. She will
ask you to investigate the deaths of several merchants along the road near
Brina Cross Inn, north of Anvil, apparently at the hands of a Frost Mage. If
you talk to her further about the subject, she will give you scrolls of Frost
Shell to protect from the Frost Magic. Travel to the inn and meet with Arielle
Jurard. She will tell you to act like a traveler and get a room. Once you do
so, she will meet you there and tell you to sleep in the inn overnight before
traveling along the Gold Road toward Kvatch. Follow her instructions and
travel down the road. Youll eventually be stopped and attacked by the mage
Caminalda. Jurard and another Battlemage will appear and the three of you are
more than enough to kill your attacker. Once shes dead, return to Carahil in
Anvil and she will send in your recommendation.

B. Bravil - The Bravil recommendation can be obtained from Kud-Ei. Shes
concerned about a Dark Elf named Varon Vamori who has apparently stolen the
staff of Ardaline, another guild member, and she wants you to get it back. If
you talk to Kud-Ei further about this, she will give you a scroll of Beguile,
which can be used to raise Vamoris disposition toward you. Find Vamori in the
guildhall or around Bravil and talk to him about the staff. You will likely
have to raise his Disposition toward you by using either the Beguile spell or
the Disposition mini-game until hes willing to confess. Once he does, hell
admit to selling the staff to a friend in the Imperial City. If you return to
Kud-Ei at this point, she will provide you with three more scrolls of Beguile
to aid you with the next step. Travel to the Imperial City and find the home
of Soris Arenim in the Talos Plaza District. Enter the house and talk to him.
Again, youll probably have to raise his Disposition before he will agree to
sell you the staff. Once youve purchased the staff, return it to Kud-Ei and
she will send in your recommendation.

C. Brum - The Bruma recommendation can be obtained from Jeanne Frasorie. She
wants you to find a missing Khajiit mage named Jskar. She thinks that a
spell may have backfired, causing him to disappear. She will only give you
the recommendation if you can make him reappear. Start by finding another
mage in the guildhall named Volanaro. He says he will help you if you help
pull a prank on Jeanne by stealing her Manual of Spellcraft out of her desk.
To help you, he teaches you a spell called Minor Latch Crack. Find Jeannes
room on the second floor and open the desk in the middle of it. Take the
manual, give it Volanaro, and he will tell you to meet him in the living
quarters at 10:00 PM. At that time, meet him, and he will make Jskar
reappear. Go and talk to Jeanne after Jskar has reappeared and she will send
in your recommendation.

D. Cheydinhal - The Cheydinhal recommendation quest begins by talking to
Falcar who will task you with retrieving the Ring of Burden from a well behind
the guildhall. To get into the well, you must talk to Deetsan, another mage,
to get the key to the well. When you talk to Deetsan, she will tell you that
she thinks Falcar is trying to get you killed because Vidkun, the last
Associate that came for a recommendation, disappeared performing the same
task. She gives you the key and teaches you the spell Buoyancy, which has
feather and water-breathing effects. This will be useful because the ring has
a weight of 150. Before you dive into the well, make sure that you have
enough room in your inventory to carry something that heavy. When youre
ready, enter the well and swim until you find Vidkuns corpse near the
ceiling. Search the body, take the ring, and return to Deetsan. She tells you
that Falcar has stormed out of the guildhall in a rage after he found out that
she helped you. She tells you to search his room to find your recommendation.
Search his room in the basement and find the two Black Soul Gems in the locked
drawer. Give the Soul Gems to Deetsan and she will write the recommendation
for you.

E. Chorrol - The Chorrol recommendation can be obtained by talking to
Teekeeus. He wants you to figure out why a former guild member named Earana
is in town. Talk to her and she will tell you that she wants help finding a
book titled "Fingers of the Mountain", but asks you not to tell the guild.
Return to Teekeeus and tell him what she said. He will also ask you to
recover the book, but he wants you to return to him. Either way, go find the
book on Cloud Top mountain to the northwest of Chorrol. Youll find the book
among some charred remains. When you return, youll to choose whether to give
the book to Teekeeus or Earana. If you give the book to Teekeeus, hell write
your recommendation and Earana will ask you to steal back. If you choose to
give it to Earana first, Teekeeus will demand that you steal it back from her
before you get your recommendation. Make whichever choice you prefer.

F. Leyawiin - Speak to Dagail to begin the quest. She will mention that she
cannot help you because she has lost an amulet and suggests that you talk to a
woman named Agata. Agata explains that Dagail has lost the Seers Stone,
which she uses to control her visions. Talk to another mage named Kalthar who
seems happy that the Stone is gone. Return to Agata and she will suggest that
you talk to Dagail again. Dagail will tell you the location of the fort where
her father was stationed. You need to travel to Fort Blueblood, southeast of
Leyawiin and explore the ruins. The fort is full marauders and other
monsters, so be prepared to fight or sneak your way through. You will need to
kill the Marauder Warlord to obtain the Fort Blueblood Key or pickpocket it
from him. This key will open the door to the room containing Manduins
coffin, which contains Manduins Amulet. As you begin to leave the fort,
Kalthar will stop you, demanding the amulet. Eventually, he will attack you
and you will be forced to kill him. Return to Dagail with amulet and she will
send in her recommendation.

G. Skingrad - The Skingrad recommendation can be obtained by talking to
Adrienne Berene. She will ask you to find a Wood Elf named Erthor. Ask the
Argonian Druja about Erthor and he will tell you that he can be found in Bleak
Flats Cave and will mark it on your map. Talk to Adrienne again and she will
teach you a Weak Fireball spell to help you on your way. When you travel to
the cave, you will discover that it is full of zombies who have trapped Erthor
inside. Kill the zombies as you explore the cave. Once you find Erthor, he
will refuse to move until every zombie in the cave is dead. When you finished
exterminating the zombies, escort Erthor back to Skingrad. After youve
returned to the guildhall, talk to Adrienne and she will send in your
recommendation.

==============================================================================
= Stage 5: Shivering Isles DLC Achievements and How to unlock them =
==============================================================================

In order to have access to these achievements, you will need to have
downloaded "Shivering Isles". Obviously you can do this through the Xbox live
marketplace. It is not cheap to buy however, as it cost 2400 microsoft
points. Another way is to buy the Shivering Isles stand-alone disc, but I'm
not sure if you'll be lucky enough to even find it now a days. Your best bet
is to buy the GOTY edition of this game it comes with the main game and the
Knights of the Nine DLC as well as Shivering Isles (at least my copy did and I
got it pre-owned (used) at GameStop).

1.
Description:
Gamerscore: 20
Guide: Once youve downloaded the Shivering Isles expansion, you can either
start up a new game or load an existing saved game. After a day has passed,
youll receive a message telling you about a strange door thats opened in the
Niben Bay. Go to the new island southeast of Bravil where youll find an odd
glowing blue doorway made of three faces. Talk to Gaius Prentus, the guard in
front of the door, and he will tell you that hes there to prevent the insane
adventures returning through the doorway from harming anyone.

Youll shortly see one such adventurer appear and attack the guard before
being subsequently killed. Afterwards, youll hear the disembodied voice of
Sheograth seeking a hero to save his realm. When hes done, enter the
doorway, sit at the chair in front of the desk you find there, and talk to
Haskill. He tells you that Sheogorath needs a champion to help him with a
forthcoming disaster. When you accept the offer, Haskill will send you to
talk to Sheogorath in person before vanishing. The room will dissolve into a
horde of butterflies, allowing you to enter the Fringe.

2. Aspirant, Shivering Isles

to the gates is hidden inside its body. There are two way about killing the
Gatekeeper:

1. You fight the Gatekeeper directly. This route is a bit of a challenge
however, for the Gatekeeper's suppose to be hard to kill.

2. There are two side quests that you can undertake that will make him much
easier, althrough you I will only tell you the quests you can do, and not how
to do them. Here are the two optional quests:

A. Gatekeeper Arrows
B. Tears of Relmyna

Either way, once you kill the Gatekeeper, take both the "Key to Mania" and the
"Key to Dementia" off of his corpse. Enter the Shivering Isles via whichever
gate you prefer and travel to Sheogoraths Palace in the city of New Sheoth to
speak to Sheogorath and finish the quest.

10. Madgod, Shivering Isles
Description: Stopped the Greymarch
Gamerscore: 50
Guide: Refer to Citizen, Shivering Isles for details.

To get this rank, stop the Greymarch and become the Mad God, you'll need to
complete a few quests that will require you to build the Staff of Sheogorath,
cleanse the pools of Madness and defeat Jyggalag. Here are the missions you
have to do:

A. Symbols of Office
B. The Roots of Madness
C. The End of Order

These are the final missions, so once you get this achievement, you have
completed the Shivering Isles DLC questline.

| Stage 6: How to Contact me |
==============================================================================

You have 2 Main ways of contacting me:

1. Send me a E-mail
2. Send me a message on my Gamertag on X-Box Live

My E-mail address sshadowjohn91(at)yahoo(dot)com.
My Gamertag is Gamer364. This can be done only through a text message.

E-mail or Message me if you:

A. See a spelling error: I may have made spelling errors as I was writing
this.

B. Have a question that needs asking: You may have something that needs
clearing up or something to that affect.

C. Have a correction to make: I'm not 100% sure on some of the stuff mentioned
though out the guide.

D. Want to use my guide on your website: I personally have no problem
letting you use my guide on your website, as long as you ask me first, and you
give me credit for it.

E. Think you see someone using my guide without permission: I don't like it
when people steal my stuff (at least, not without asking me first). I don't
do it to other people (at least without giving other people credit for the
idea), so why do it to me anyway?

F. Have something to add-on to this or that/there's something I forgot to
include: If there something you think I should have included, but I didn't,
you are encouraged to send me an Email for this or that.

Do note that if you do decide you want to message me, make sure if the topic
is about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (or Oblivion if that's too long).

As of right now the only sites that have permission to use my guide:
A. GameFAQs (I have an ancount with them, so they don't really need my
permission.)
B. Neoseeker (The owner got permission in advanced)
More to come (maybe).

Don't even think about email me if you are going to send me:
A. Hate Mail
B. Spam
C. Name Calling mail
D. Barelly readable/Unreadable mail
E. Mail with mostly creative words (if you get my drift)

Letter A I take offence to, because I don't send hate mail to no one.

I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not
with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live,
don't think I won't wirte a complant about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you.

With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school.

Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check avaiable to you and
your not sure of your spelling, then why not use it?

Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that
anyway.

All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in
reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it.

Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you
credit for it.

Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I
might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet
is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get
one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even
then, I might still not get your message right away.
