Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I am on the Fighter's Guild quest "Azani Blackheart" and am stuck in the second part of the second alyeid ruin. I am at the part where you have to push the button on the wall to open the gate, but when I push the button the gate doesn't open. Is there something I am missing?

I would try to get a quest walkthrough from the website: www.gamefaqs.com they have all the walkthroughs for every quest in Oblivion.
