What is the difference between an ordinary Shield enchantment (such as Protect), and an elemental one (Shock, Fire, Frost Shield)?

The ordinary one protects you from physical damage. And the elemental ones protect you from magical frost, fire, or shock damage.

The only ordinary shield is the fur or iron but the enchantments are differ cause the shield protects you from magic ect. And the enchantment of frost fire ect is going to hurt you not them believe me I died cause of the frost damage

The Element ones give more protection to that element and normal Protect/Shield protects them in almost everything.
