Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Hi I only got Oblivion a few days ago and I've got a few characters on it. On one it is a level 9 arch mage and has dwarven shortsword and conjurer robes. All I have done on it is complete the arena and the mages guild quests. I want to know when do you get to shut down anymore oblivion gates other than the one in kavatch as on another character Ive down quite a few main missions and only one oblivion gate has anyone got any clues?

They are usually near roads etc. You just need to explore, cos I think theres 16 in total

There are many in the wild. Even after you beat a wild gate just wait several days and another random gate will be in it's place. After you beat the main quest and "light the dragonfires", the gates go away.
