im stuck on the thieves guild questline
It's the quest you have to get boots of springheeljack. I got went back to the gray fox and talk to him and clicked the option thats under the line that says give the boots of springheel jack and he told that he wasnt the first gray fox and now when I try to give the boots of springheel jack he just says 'not now, I'm trying to think what do I do??????????

I'm not really sure what you did, but you're supposed to use the boots of Springheel Jack. I don't wanna give you a spoiler, but you use them in the next quest.

If you want to keep the boots, just don't use/put on them when it says(they will always be a quest item, that wieghs nothing)
