I think any potion that gets rid of diseases will stop it before your vampirism takes full effect.

There is a quest where you find a witch, and she will give you a recipe for the cure, you have to find the ingredients and give them to her. When you do, she should give you a potion and you will be cured. The witch though....I don't know where she is.

There is only one way to prevent it once you have it or contract it, to get the Cure Vamprism potion. You need to be in the Dark Brotherhood and talk to the vampire guy who will send you to Skingrad to talk to the king, and he'll send you to this old women who will give you the quest to make the potion

The answers above are true (though I don't believe it can be prevented in that 3 day span) but I highly recommend keeping the disease. Once you cure yourself, you can not contract it again, and lets face it, the perks are amazing. By doing nothing and letting each day pass without drinking blood, your powers increase tremendously, but the downfall is your weakness to the sun (which is a debilitating issue). Still, if you are planning a big battle in say a cave or ruin, time it correctly so you will have full powers and don't have to be in the sun. If you do have to be in the sun for some reason, just drink the blood of a sleeping human, and you return to normal for a full 24 hours. No weakness, no strengths. Just plain old you. Thus, I recommend taking the 5 seconds out of your day to drink blood so you stay normal, and then draw off the perks when you need them. They are very handy.
