Can you get above a journeyman in any of your minor skills. Because my mercantile skill won't go up, it's at level 66 and won't go up unless I use a trainer and I can't get enough gold to use the trainers all the time. Any ideas?

Perhaps it's because you have an item equiped that boosts your mercantile. For it to increase to journeyman you have to have your skill up to 50 without any enchantments boosting it.

Of course you can. Mercantile is one of the harder skills to learn. You have to buy and sell a lot of stuff and if you are a high level you should be able to sell items for a lot of money and then you can afford trainers. Hope this helps.
