Black Soul Gems
I need black soul gems for an offering for a deadric quest. I'm suspended from the mage's guild and have no clue where to find them. I have the guidebook but it doesn't really describe how to find it very well.

There are a few altars spread across the land. At these places there are altar s that you put soul gems in. If you want a black soul gem you need to put a grand soul gem in when the light shines down on the altar. Take the gem out and it is a black soul gem. If you did the quest with Falcar before you got suspended you should have the locations of the altars because I forgot them sorry. I'll look for them.

One of the altars is dark fissure cavern just south of hero hill. Note: the light that shines down is only on tursdays night every week in oblivion. (if not tursdays, fredas)

Forgot to mention once more, you have to cast a soul trap spell on the altar. And the soul trap spell must be target not touch. I'm really absent minded srry.

I suggest to get back in Mages Guild and get to the on when you'll need to kill a necromancer for a black gem. Dupe it so you'll have a spare for duping.

Black Soul Gems can be found randomly in chests, and appear as random loot on Giants, Hargraven, Necromancers, and Forsworn Briarhearts.
