Shadowrend is found in the shivering isles (you will need the GOTY or the expantion pack) later on in the SI main quest you will need to re-create the staff of sheogorath in order to do so you will need a special type of wood found in a unique tree in the isles....the tree will only comply to the "worthy" ....you will need to approach the tree at which point that will trigger a "shadowy" version of yourself (attributes and all) to emerge and attack you.....you will then need to fight (and kill) "yourself" to be "worthy" enough......(the "shadowy" version of yourself carries the shadowrend) .....

You will find Shadowrend in the Shivering Isles main questline. It's a two-handed sword but personally I think Duskfang/Dawnfang is better.

It is in the main questline in the shivering isles expansion pack. You have to fight an exact reflection of yourself and it is extremely hard if you are at a high level because it has equal skills as you but has a better sword

When you fight yourself drop any really good scrolls b/c my reflection whooped me using rufio's ghost and immolating blast(110 pts. Fir damamge)
