Alright I got a quest from the countess in bruma and she told me to go to Pale Pass and get an amulet,so I did. I was wondering though about the ghost at the end. I killed him but if I didnt could I have still gotten the amulet because I gave him the orders I found ealier in the cave but then I was afraid I wouldnt get the Amuet and killed him before he went through the wall. Also on my way out I found a barrel on the frozen water with a note and a key inside it said there was a ring hidden in the valley and I looked but all I found was a chest that needs a key anyone know where to get the ring?

You can still give him the orders and not kill him and get the amulet. About the frozen barrel, this is little quest that won't appear in your journal. I'm really sorry but it will take to long to explain but if you look at the walktroughs they might help. Good luck mate!
