Ah, over eager to be a Jedi Knight are we? Alright then, allow me to help you out by giving you an answer. The earliest time that you can become a Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, or Jedi Guardian is after you leave the planet Taris, and head on over to the planet called Datooine. I am guessing that you are on the Planet Taris now, and you might be around the part where you have to break into the Sith base there using the that robot, T3-M4. If you are there, then you are close to leaving the planet Taris. Go to Dattoine and then visit the Jedi Masters there. When you talk to them, they will ask you to complete a task for them, to kill a taint of evil somewhere. After you do this, you can become a Jedi and make your lightsaber. Hope this helps.
