I got lucky and found one in the beggining of the game in Redmond. But there is no real garrantee of actually finding one at any point in the game. I heard somewhere that when you get to higher levels, you can get better weapons and ships. The only thing that I can tell you rihgt now is to level up a lot and you might find one somewhere. A good way to level up a lot is to enter the Invincibility cheat and then go to Oxbay in the beggining of the game before the war ends and continue to fight the fort untill you either run out of crew members or you run out of ammo. When you either run out of crew members or run out of ammo then quick sail to Greenford and restock. Then go back to the fort and repeat the process but this time when run out of ammo of crew sail to Redmond and then restock and then deactivate the Invincibility cheat as it will soon start messing with your game. When you are done you should be at about level 20 or so in the beggining of the game and should be able to find a battleship easier. Hope this helps.
