Can't Count hints and tips for Pokemon Heart Gold

ok so I read on here something someone had submitted as a hint for this game and they said that there are 17 known legendaries. but this is not true. I know because i have caught like 21 different ones in my game already and I know theres more because I looked at my pokédex and at the ones I caught and I know of some that aren't in there yet like Darkrai. So if you have 17 of them and someone told you that's all they were wrong. and could someone tell me the real number?
