Have you ever wished real dogs could stay puppies forever? Well, in Nintendogs, you can have just that. Nintendogs is a neat game where you begin at a kennel, selecting a dog, and taking it back to your home. You first teach your dog their name, then teach it to sit, and after that you are free to explore. Over the course of time, you can go on walks, compete in obedience, agility, and disc competitions, and so much more. This game never gets boring.
The graphics are GREAT! Everything looks so real. You can clearly see little paw prints pushing up against your screen, little teeny tiny noses sniffing the ground, it really is cute. It's like you're looking down at a real dog that just happens to live in your DS.
All of your dog's barks are so individual, each sound different than the next! They whine, cry, bark, and make other dog-noises, just like a real puppy would. I gave it a 9 because soem of the game tunes (the music that plays while walking your dog, bathing your dog, etc) Can get a bit droning and boring after awhile.
The dogs always stay puppies, so it is constantly cute. The amount of tricks takes a long time to get to the top, but it's worth it. The game is easy to navigate, the words easy to read, if you can read and understand what most of the words mean then you will understand the game and what goes on. A 5 year old could easily navigate the game.
Doesn't get boring IF you don't use cheats. If you have infinite money, infinite everything, what is there left to accomplish? If you play the game Nintendo meant for it to be played, you will have endless fun and it will be entertaining for ages. I have played it for almost 4 years.
Overall, I give Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends a 10. It is entertaining, easy to play, and you won't get bored. Everything looks and feels real, and you learn the basic principles of taking care of a dog. Kids will find this entertaining, and so will grownups. Nintendogs is fun for any age.
