I just want to get part 1 over with... I know how to get partners and stuff like that but giving them sandwiches just takes too long. Is there any way I can just get to the tag duel quickly? Like somebody who doesn't need a bunch of hearts or w/e to team up with? Thanks in advance.

Not the first time round, after completing part 2 with 1 of the main characters by dueling them and giving them sandwitches all the time, then go back too part 1 after finishing part 2 and ask anyone too be your partner except main characters and they will join you
