If you want to really be sure, go into your Magic section (press O) and check your active effects. If it says Vampirism, then yes you are a vampire. If you have been battling vampires recently, then I would think that you have contracted the disease. Every time you fight vampires, check your active effects because there is a chance you may have contracted Vampirism. Also, citizens of Skyrim may desribe you as a bit peaky or looking pretty ill 25% of the time, so if this happens, check your active effects at once. You've definately caught some sort of disease!

Now to curing it. If you've caught it recently and quickly checked your active effects, it is curable with a Cure Disease potion, which are pretty easy to get hold of. But if you weren't so lucky and haven't checked yet and the disease has took a firm hold in your blood, then those potions won't work. There are 4 stages of Vampirism, 1 - 4 and each decide your powers/how others treat you. As a stage 1 vampire, others won't notice that you have the disease, but once you're stage 4, then everyone will! Be careful, as this is a huge disadvantage. So, if you need to get rid of vampirism as a proper vampire then there are only 2 ways!

1) Join the Companions and become a werewolf. This instantly removes vampirism, whether you're stage 1 or 4. See any imformation on the Silver Hand to see how to develop lycanthropy.

2) Go and see a woman mage called Falion in Morthal and complete the side quest: Rising of Dawn.

There are advantages and disadvantages of being a vampire.

Advantages:
Immune to Disease : Any diseases you had before becoming a vampire are cured
Immune to Poison : You are immune to ALL poisons
Resist Frost : You resist any forms of frost
Nightstalker's Footsteps : 25% harder to detect when sneaking.
Champion of the Night : Illusion spells 25% more powerful.

Disadvantages:
Hatred : (Srage 4) All citizens and guards in Skyrim will see you as a vampire and will attack on sight.
Weakness to sunlght : (This includes fire, so if you haven't completed the Main Quest yet, fire-breathing dragons will be a HUGE problem.) Between 5am and 7pm, health, stamina and magika will NOT regenerate.

So, that might be a bit long, but I like to give as much information as possible. It's your choice whether you wish to keep being a vampire or not. If you need anything else, just ask Smile
