The "duplication" trick does NOT affect nor damage your game, HOWEVER sum problems have occured when you "dupe" more than 250 of any item. I had like 400 elven arrows in my inventory and the game started to freeze after loading. I then transfered the arrows into a chest (cause I switched to amber ones) and suddenly no more buggin'. Same with lockpicks...in a chest there dosent seem to be a problem except when the game will load it's contents (the chest) it might take a few extra seconds. Also , I have noticed as I found more locations (up to 350) the game took more memory and was slower to load and had background inconsistencies. I put the auto-saves off and have fewer problems...although they still arise.....
