Follow these steps to get Malcolm to put your sim in his big movie:
First take the two yellow loveseats that are in front of the fireplace and move them to the room at the end of the hall that has the microphone and guitar in it.
(Which by the way, you must unlock the microphone and purchase it before you attempt to ask Malcolm for Movie part).
Then take Microphone and guitar to tiled area in front of fireplace. Call Malcolm and invite him over and then choose 'throw party' on the phone options.
Just make sure you invite Malcolm first because sometimes he doesn't come and you have wasted all that time and effort. Make dinner before your guests get there so they can eat.
Then when they are all there, have your main Sim sing on the Microphone and one of the other Sims that live there play the guitar (your sim husband/wife, Fanny or Humphrey).
Malcolm wants "live music". Let him listen for like half hour to an hour of Sim time then go ask him. Make sure he has eaten and listened long enough to have fun. He will then give you the part.
If you don't feed him and just play music he will say no "due to his mood". Have fun and good luck!
(p.s. you can move all the stuff back to their original rooms after all this is done.
I only move it because that room is too small to fit all the partying Sims so it makes it much easier to get the job done.)
