After you defeat the Dark Genie, wait for the credits to end. The Demon Shaft will be put on your map. When you kill the boss of the Demon Shaft you get the Chronicle 2.

The best weapon before you beat the dark genie is the chronicle sword (for Toan anyway) It builds up from the Atnamilia Sword.

Beat the demon shaft. You can get the chronicle by soupin up the wise owl sword
