Pale pass is NNE of BRUMA. U should have been given a diary by the countess of BRUMA and a map marker indicating the location of the first landmark "the rock". The rock is a seemingly normal rock, i'd be surprised if you could pick it out of the many other rocks in the area. However, as soon as you come near it you should receive a quest update telling you to look for the statue. The statue called the "sentinel" is due WEST of the rock. Once you found the statue, head due NORTH until you find the serpent's trail. The serpent's trail is an underground passage, follow it to find PALE PASS. Also, you should have a mini-map sketched of the locations and directions to the landmarks given to you as you receive the quest.
