The crocodile beasts near the start of the game

With the crocodile beasts (sorry I don't know their name) how do you get past them?? I know how to use the "shroud of mist" or what ever but I just can't seem to find the direction of the exit...can you please help me?? XD

The birds dosen't one hit you so you have to kill them and then you can get out. And the signs that you can find will lead you to the end. :3
