My son and I cannot work out how to kill the Emperor in Episode VI Chapter 5. We are playing with a single DS and any time you get near him he uses his Force lightning and kills us. Please tell me how to do it.

I don't play this game much, but I'll try to remember. Either force it back at him or switch to your partner and hit him while he's using force lightning on the other guy.
What you have to do is when your geting hit by the lightning force swich chaters then acket with that chater
to defeat the emperor when u get electrecuated you must switch the character and use the lightsaber to hurt his life u must repeat this till he's dead
One of the guys has to walk up to him then you change into the other guy and wack him
