When in 1st place do not use a blue or red shell.Blue because you'd hit yourself and red because i'd go and do nothing.

Here is another way to use that trick hold down the L button whith a banana, shell, item box etc and hold the up button on the direction while holding L and release the L button still holding the up button tho and you should shoot the item that you were holding forward or backwards depending on which arrow you hold down NOTE DOES NOT WORK SIDEWAYS hope you enjoy

I have completed the game many of times now so I have some good advice lets start shall we when you have an item such as a banana, shell, box etc or any thing like that and you are first. Hold the L button down I think it is that makes you shoot anyway hold it down and insted of it letting go of the item you will still have hold of it this is pretty useful if you have someone right behing you and all you got to do it let them run into you while holding the item behind you.

When using a boost if there is grass like terrain,use a boost on it,it will make it like a shortcut like on clouds,sand,and grass.And also on small gaps like on the sky course and on ramps.

If you want to beet your oppents fast put difficulty on easy and make robo legs your cart.

If you fall off the track or get stuck underwater for more than a couple moments, Lakitu comes to pull you out and place you on the track again. When he picks you up, wait until you're dropped onto the track again, then press the acceleration at that exact moment and you'll get a turbo boost if you timed it correctly.

On the big loop before the finish, if you bump head first into the right-side wall, your kart will fly to the finish line.

Red shells are the best to use in races or battle mode because it is like a homing missile but it's a homing shell,But a red shell can't rebound off walls without breaking where as a green shell only goes straight forward but it rebounds off walls.

A much easier way is to start holding down A half way through the second beep so use the sound not the numbers.

If you get it right you can PRB off it and get crazy times.

In the 3rd time you battle against chief chilly, get the mushrooms but don't go to him. Make HIM come to you. That's the time you use the mushrooms. Hope my hint works!

In the 1st and 2nd lap against Wiggler, don't use the shortcut. You will see more item boxes there. In the 3rd lap, I suggest to USE the shortcut. Also, always remember when you get an item box in that mission, use it immediately! :D

I just discovered this when I went to the boss stage in Mission 6. In the third time, he can jump so that you can fall to the water in order for you to lose a life. Here's my hint: Get an item and MAKE Chief Chilly come to you. Once you see him running over to you, that's the time you use the mushrooms. If you're able to push him to the water with this, I salute you congratulations. I tried this once and I got a star.

On sky garden, YOU CAN JUMP OVER THE 2nd RAMP WITH A TURBO BOOST
(aimed at The 44th Tree) by driving to the right then skidding to
The left then boosting over the ramp (you'll need to jump too) and
Just after the start do the same again...whoo

To use turbo at the starting hold A at 1 let go when it gets to number 2 hold A again when it gets to 3 let go then hold A again

When you come out of the tunnel use a mushroom on the grey wall but do it to the left as well and if you do it right you will fly over the red and white barrier to the left and into the sea (do this away from the blue barrier above the wall, the corner is best). If you do this you will be picked up by Lakitu and taken to the entrance of the tunnel. You could also just boost behind the red and white barrier on the left by being next to it and then boosting past it or just jumping behind it. But the first method looks a lot better. When you do this look at the mini map below of the whole track. That's a big jump...

When you get to the water and the rolling stones, go to the top part and then fall back down the grey slope. Now go to the start of the water and jump in the corner. You should appear back on top. I have managed it once without going on top, but haven't been able to repeat it (I might just have imagined it, but if it is possible it could be a useful shortcut).

This short can be mini turboed on 150cc but is hard to master and I've only ever managed it 2 laps in a row, or can be done with a mushroom on 150cc or 100cc but on 100cc is a lot harder.

When you get to the ramp that has an item box above it on sky garden go to the left of it. Now instead of turning right around the hairpin bend go straight on jumping from one sandy area to the next.

On 100cc you cannot make this jump with a miniturbo but with a mushrrom you can if you line yourself up with the vine on the far side of the other bit of track. Make sure you jump straight or you will fall short and tap the are button just at the edge.

Once you can do this every time you will win sky garden on wi-fi every time so long as you get three mushrooms from an item box at the start. If you sat behind for 2nd or 3rd place you should get the mushrroms.

On 150cc you can also use a mushrrom and this time you can take jump across other parts of the gap and don't have to stick exactly to the point where the vine is. Now the hardest but most rewarding part; to be able to powerslide turbo the gap.

To do this the best kart is dry bomber as it has high acellaration and good handling so it can jump the gap and go faster on the sand/dirt. When you use a powerslide turbo you have to do three things:

Line your self up with the vine on the oppsosite side of the other bit of track

Realease the turbo at the start of the sand and tap R to jump at the very edge

Straighten the Kart so it faces directly towards the vine

With practice you will become unbeatable at Sky Garden unless you face someone who can PRB the Sky Garden track with a time of 1:14. I used this shortcut and got a time of 1:24 beating the staff ghost by 20 seconds.

Get the usual turbo start at the beginning and then turn right onto the water fallwhen you shoot off.

Drift across the waterfall while charging up a mini turbo. Do two or three mini turbos while drifting towards the bridge. Stay on the sloped bit (try to keep to the ery edge of the cliff for the first half) until just before the end for shortest distance. Be careful not to hit the post. At the middle of the bridge start drfiting left and then mini turbo when you reach the end of the bridge. Immediately start to do a mini turbo to the right and go across the turbo pad, but just catching the corner of it. Head for the waterfall not the bridge.

Just before you reach the waterfall release the mini turbo as this is when the turbo from the turbo pad runs out. Immediatley drift right again and mini turbo towards the next turbo pad. The moment you have released it start charging up another mini turbo in the same direction (right) and keeping to the edge, (I nearly hang off the cliff on this corner) realese the mini turbo just as you pass the post. On laps one and two, just before you reach the finish line start charging up a mini turbo, while drifintg right. Release on the sloped bit and straghten the cart to go across the first waterfall.

Repeat this process to get very fast times.
I usually use Rob-BLS for this with yoshi, drybones or toad.
My time is 0:54:537 and my best lap is 0:17:632 but if you practice you can get even better times.

Instead of using the pen, use the directional buttons and A.
Most of you probably figured this out earlier but I'm a bit slow.

I forgot to add that when you dodge a blue shell you have to hold down the direction of your power slide when you do your mini turbo or it won't work.

This is a very hard skill to master (the hardest skill to master) and can only be done done in 150cc or 100cc races, though in 100cc (wi-fi speed) it is very difficult to do. I've only ever managed it a few times but I'm still learning.

When you see someone with a blue shell on the lower screen you have to get ready to do a power slide turbo so go to a corner or the edge of the track. Once that blue shell is fired start doing a power slide (unless the person who fired the shell is very far away). What your aiming for is to have orange sparks coming out of the tyres by the time the shell has nearly reached you(you will hear it just before you can see the blue dot on the bottom screen).

This is the hardest bit and the bit I normally mess up on. When the shell is above you it will spin around then rise up. It is at the moment that the shell begins to drop that you realease your turbo and IMMEDIATELY tap the R button to jump.

The way this works is that once the shell is falling it is no longer following you and you can simply turbo out of the blue dome it creates when it explodes. You will also notice if you see someone else hit by a bob-omb or blue spiny shell, that there is a ring on the ground just a bit further out than the dome, this is what you are jumping over.

I find the best place to practice this is the figure 8 circuit and GCN Luigi Circuit, but that's because I don't have an Action Replay thing. If you have an Action Replay thing get infinite blue shells (I've heard that you need a code to get this, but I don't know what it is) and go to N64 Frappe Snowland whic has a lot of curves and is perfect for training. Just select VS under single player and 150CC, get into first and start dodging. Once you can get it right every time, or nearly every time try it on the 100CC races.

Blue shell dodging is impossibble when shrunk by lightning or in the 50CC races.

The best carts for this are oens with high accelaration such as egg1 or dry bomber (I managed it with rob-bls on wi-fi once out of pure luck).

Once you have perfected this skill go on wi-fi and shock everyone with your skill.

P.S. If you don't know how to power slide turbo all you have to do is press and hold R as you turn into a corner and start pressing left, right, left, right to get blue sparks and carry on until you have orange sparks. It should take less than a second to get to orange sparks once your good at it. If you had the read the P.S. Bit to know what a powerslide turbo is, don't even bother tryin to dodge blue shells until you get a lot better, then come back and read this.

To go back to the main menu quickly, hold start+select+L+R during a race or whatever. Note: I'm not sure if this works on wifi.
