If you hit the metal box with anyone theyll turn to metal.

For the first question, yes you do turn into Metal Mario. Now as for your second question, the answer is a no. I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it is faulty information, and I suggest not going there. You know, unless it's this website. :-P
