Ok I have been playing this game for a long time now and I can't seem to figure out what the coins under the bridge are for. For those who don't know, it's the bridge outside the castle. You walk under it, look up and there are two coins on either side of the bridge. I have tried wall kick, back flip...EVERYTHING!
Oh and also... Is there another way of getting those red coins in that secret star room. The room in the third level/floor on the left. Where mario has to fly. Please help.

1) It's kinda tricky to get those 2 Yellow Coins under the Bridge outside the Castle - do a Sideflip onto the wall and then a Wall Jump up to get the Coin (you'll hafta be aligned with it). Once you get both of them, a Life will appear - chase it down (other than that - there's no point in getting them lol).
2) It does take quite some time to track the 8 Red Coins down - make sure you use the Cannon (with the Wing Cap on) and look around often!
Good Luck =D
Ok, if you collect the coins under the bridge you get a extra life nothing special. This is how you get them: you get all 120 stars and shoot up to yoshi. Then you get the red cap next to him and fly and get the coins.
Hope I helped!
I tried that , " it did not take me long " , it doesn't give you a star or anything. You just collect them like any other coin , just don't bother.
You CAN reach them with wall jumps, well I did anyway. Collect them both to get a REALLY, REALLY secret prize...Nah, just kidding, you only get one extra life.
