clothes codes on super mario 64

I got a gameshark pro for n64 and tried the 'Luigi" code and the "Fire Mario" code. But mario's clothes were like TieDie Instead of full colored. then I got a new N64 system and a new super mario 64 game, and then only mario's overalls are TieDie.
