I did it a different way which works Here is a different way...
1. Get all of your sims gardening in the same house
2. Go of the game and press the home button twice until the circle with the red line shows up and remove sims freeplay.
3. go to the settings and remove the automatically set option in the time part and change the time to 1 year, 12 hours and 1 minunet ago.
4. Go back to the game and the house that they are planting at
5. repeat step 2 but set it to after the present time by 1 year 12 hours and 1 minunet.
6. Return to the game and colour ct your money and XP then change your settings to the present time and return to the game

It might not work but i did it on an iPhone 3gs. If it worked your sims will be really unhappy but you will have loads of money and XP!!!

Thank you, it worked for me! Also, when I was changing the time after adding the first minute I went to the map screen and started to build a mansion. I then went on with the steps (closing the app, adding another minute, opening the app again). Once finished with that I changed the time back to the correct setting and when I open the app again the mansion was built!

It totally works! I have the iOS 4s phone! It's awesome! Once the crop is grown and you collect the money, your sims will have all their needs down to red. Simply go back to the settings to where you change time and date and make it back to the automatic time and their needs are All green again! But be sure not to close out of the game fully that time! HOW TO DOUBLE YOUR MONEY AFTER USING THIS CHEAT!

Once you have collected the money and xp from your plants, immediately have your sims start planting again. Go to the town map, then press the home screen button on your device which will take you to the home screen with all your apps. Hit the settings app and change the time back to the present (turn the auto set button back on in the time and date section of general settings) return to the sims freeplay app, and you will see that all of the revenue on the town map is ready to collect. Once you have collected all of the revenue, return to the house where all of your sims are planting. The plants will be ready and you can collect the money and xp, except all of the sims will be frozen at the place where they are planting. To unfreeze them, simply return to the town map then back to where they are all planting. They should be good to go at that point.

I have the iPad 2 and this works every time, i hope you all understand this, if not I'll try to reword it.

Get all of your sims to go to one house and Plant beans, onions, or eggplant, then you want to exit out of the game completely by hitting the home button twice and holding down on the game and press the x to exit. After this go into your settings and go to date and time and change the year to 2011 and the time from eith am or pm depending what time of day your playing, go back to the game and they will still be working exit out the game as before. This time go back to the settings and change the time again 12 hrs for beans and 18 hrs for eggplant, go back to the game and wala your crops will be harvest. You can also get task done faster if u activate them while your in this time format. Say for instance you want to have a baby u can do it while your planting the crops in 2011 time format . You can then forward the clock 32 hours or however long it takes the baby to be born and wala the baby is born. This will get you money and help you complete task quicker... Happy Planting!!!
