How one you only get hearts sometimes while visiting other springfileds? They have a card above it but sometimes it's just money and xp.. No hearts... Any way to get lots of hearts?

I have the same problem. I don't know if it is a glitch in the update or a challenge ?? The items don't cost too many hearts so it might be a challenge thing, but it would be nice to get some sort of memo in the game that this is the case. See how it goes for the next day or two, it might get fixed.

I have like 20 friends and I was only able to give valentines to about 3 of them. The rest are, as you said, only showing the $ symbol. Actually most times when I first enter another town I see all the valentines for a split second but they disappear before I can tap. I hope they fix it. Because even when I do tap on the cards I only get a heart like 1 out of 3 times. Stingy and annoying if you ask me...

You only get hearts for clicking on buildings that have characters associated to them, but even at that it's random.
Some of the buildings are:

Retirement Castle
Police Station

It's totally random, sometimes you'll go 0/3, the most I've ever done was 2/3.

I wonder if perhaps you can only get an envelope if another user hasn't already given a heart, seeing as it goes to the associated character. Certainly I have difficulty giving hearts to those who have given them to me.

EA is making it hard to collect hearts. The best thing to do is add friends who will actually visit you every 24 hours and give you hearts. Notice that all the Be Mine cards in your own town will always give you hearts without fail. Add me, I will give hearts to friends who return the favor. I play several times a day.

You can only attempt to give a heart if the character that belongs to the building does not have a heart waiting to be harvested by your friend. The chances of getting a heart during the giving process seems to be relative to the building/character. For instance, comic book guy/androids seems to reward about 75% while crusty burger/crusty only seems to be about 20%. Your mileage may vary.

- Hearts are only associated with buildings that characters come from.
- When people tap on yours to give you valentines, you can only get one per character UNTIL you collect it from your character. Then they can add another one.
- This is why you go to some people's towns and no valentines are available to select above buildings: someone else did and the heart hasn't been collected yet

I think that whether you get a heart or not from a place that has a card above it is complete luck of the draw and is just random. Add me and I'll give you hearts: tabbicat2000
