What is the name of the ghost guy A.K.A ???? Or how do you beat him in battle please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doopliss is his name, you have to say his name (one letter is missing when you spell his name(its in the castle)

That sure was sad. No one said how to beat him. Anyway, his name(as mentioned) is Doopliss. You can't enter his name completely because the small "p" is missing. If you try the big "P", it won't work. So, to beat him(before he steals your partners, look on the bottom of this answer to see how to defeat him when he has your body), just focus on taking him out, and after depleting half of his HP, he'll turn into Shadow Mario. He'll probably start copying your attacks. So, just guard as much as possible(don't use "defend" in the Tactics though, that wastes time to defeat him). Then just keep attacking until you get him. Oh yeah, if you're talking about taking him out when he challenges you, just run away. To beat him when he has your partners, Vivian(eventually will become your partner) will decide to help you or not, because she finds out you're Mario. So, keep attacking, and she should come, then just fire away with heavy artillery. But never attack your partners, because it should make you feel guilty(unless you like it), and also, another partner will just simply jump in to take their place. So, focus attacks all on Doopliss(or the so-called real "Mario").

After you defeat him the first time in Creepy Steeple, you will become Shadow Mario { don't get it confused with Super Mario Sunshine}. Go to Twilight Town. On the way to Twilight town, you will meet Dooplis. Run from him. Go into Town and find Vivian. Then search the bushes for the bomb thing. Take it to her and she will join your party. Go to the second area{ the place with the shop} and use Vivian's ability next to the south-eastern tree. They will tell you to go to Creepy Steeple{not in those exact words} when you do, do not go in. Jump in the well and push up against the gte thing, then use vivian's ability. It shoudl pass over you. Follow the path and use the Tube Curse thing. Go in the open slots and open up the chests. Then leave Creepy Steeple and head back to Town. This time, you have found your weapon. When he tells you to guess his name, put in Dooplis. Dooplis will run back to Creepy Steeple. Head back to the room where you faced him the first time and prepare for the final fight between you and him. Hope this helps!
