Question for Luigis Mansion

I have caught seven "Boos" already but seem to be stuck. I cant find any more and can't get in to any more rooms. What do I do next? I also don't know if I have any of the elements because when I suck fire it seems to only blow out smoke? thanks

I think your in the Area 2. After you catch 5 Boos, Prof. Egad should say that you should go to the Washroom which is on the First Floor near the door with the thorn vines. There, you will fight the ghost that hold on to you and after you defeat them, you'll get a key. You won't get the elements until later on in Area 2.

After you beat the big fat guy there's another room that you have to get the water element. In order for you to get it to use them you have to suck up element that you want and fter you turn on the lights more Boos will appear in that room.
